Yo, Irani, don’t listen to these dip****s. There’s nothing wrong with competition.

I thought they made it clear they aren’t journalists, or was that just Willie Saylor’s take?

I am still butt hurt about that match. I canceled right after, but hey, if everyone is now vouching for Flo then obviously I should reconsider.
Also, I’m a big fan of Askren’s addition. I think he’s pretty insightful, his stories are pretty funny, and the malcontent in me finds it amusing when he gives Pyles a hard time!

Now show us your handsome mug!
I’m a big fan of this kid: did his own “Vision Quest” by cutting down to get a chance at Lee, *beat* Lee (injured or not, Lee put his foot on the line), and he’s freakin’ relentless. Pressure, pressure, pressure. Can’t quit, won’t quit. Did he act out? Yeah, but he was straight outta high school and onto a national stage. If there was video of me at my worst moments at 18 or 19, it would make this kid look angelic, lol
Yeah, other kids have handled the spotlight better, but you got parents spearing kids in the back, so he’s not the worst ever.
BTW, I wouldn’t tackle a kid, I’d have “have a word” with his dad.

“Bad weather would not necessarily have prevented Bryant’s helicopter from flying, because it should have been equipped with instruments that allow pilots to fly in inclement conditions, experts said.”
But, yeah, it looks like the weather definitely played a part. I guess he figured “I’ve done this a million times, no big deal,” just like Schultz probably figured “this dude is crazy, but it’s not like he’s gonna kill me or something.”

Schultz knew he was living with a mentally unstable person. Bryant was just doing what he’d done for 20 years.

133- Jordan Oliver
141 - logan stieber
149 - z retherford
157 - dake
165 - JB
174 - zahid Valencia
184 - ed ruth/bo nickal
197 - cox
285 - snyder
I like your list, but who is your pick if you gotta choose between Ruth and Nickal?
-
4 minutes ago, jchapman said:Hard to argue with this team as a whole. I guess you could move Steiber to 133 and add Russell at 141. A couple of 3X NC Hodge winners that might get consideration would be Ringer at 165 (where do you put Dake then?) and Nickal at 184.
I did exactly that with Steiber and Russell at first but I wanted to slot guys where I thought they were at their best.

Saw something on this topic and figured it would be fun to throw out my picks and get you guys’ opinions, too
Here’s my team:
125 - Matt McDonough
133 - Tony Ramos
141 - Logan Steiber
149 - Zain Retherford
157 - Jason Nolf
165 - Kyle Dake
174 - Chris Perry
184 - Ed Ruth
197 - J’Den Cox
HWT - Kyle Snyder
I wanted to slot guys in at weights where they were at their best, that’s why I put Stieber at 141 and Dake at 165.
I know Ramos only won one title at 133 but he was a two-time finalist and didn’t feel like there were any better options. I guess an argument could be made that 133 seemed weaker, or that it was tougher and that’s why nobody repeated at that weight.
Let’s hear some of your lists!

Sorry I couldn’t find anything from Fox News on the subject, lol

23 hours ago, Boompa said:35 is not 26 and even the 26 is not entirely true and for WW2 it is more like 20-25. The biggest reason for that is over 50% of soldiers drafted for ground combat units were 18 but by 1945 were 20-25. Of those 18 year olds that were drafted, over 80% went to replacement companies/battalions. The draft was amped up a whole year before the outbreak of war in 1941.
Vietnam had a one year tour, hence 19.
It would've been extremely rare for a 35 year old to be drafted for a ground combat unit. Maybe if he had a criminal record but was still in good physical condition.
You have to dig deeper than the headline on a google search.
To be clear, you’re disputing the average age of troops in WWII, but you agree Wayne was a douchebag, right?

I don’t think there’s enough money to be made in college wrestling for these kids to use PEDs. This isn’t like college football. Boosters and agents aren’t throwing money at them. I guess maybe a kid with a full scholarship can afford PEDs, but the risk/reward ratio seems pretty poor.

A reputation is ruined in an instant of stupidity or deliberate action.
You’re comparing this kid’s actions to those of Lee Harvey Oswald and John Wilkes Booth? You’re being ridiculous.

Phew.
Meanwhile, you think Gross outsrcambled DeSanto, even while working with Askren on outside ankle technique for months now.
Oops
There was a kid we called “Dirt Hill,” scored crazy high on the ASVAB, shoulda been a Navy nuke guy. Smart AF but too dumb to wash the back of his head. We always had to remind him, “just cuz you can’t see it don’t mean we can’t”
We’d be at Applebee’s with a “genius” who still had cammie paint on the back of his head.

I really like this kid. Goes on his own personal-but-highly-public Vision Quest his senior year, kicks ass at no-name Drexel, transfers to big, bad, Iowa and just continues to improve. Keep doing your thing, Kid.

Yeah, I didn’t think Snyder had a chance against Sadulaev either before Snyder switched camps. I still don’t think he’ll win, but I hope he’s more competitive if they wrestle again.
What’s the feeling of the average Russian fan on the situation? Do you view PED use like the average American fan views it? Do you think the claims were exaggerated, or even false?
Also, If your athletes still get to compete then the sanctions are toothless, right?

Progressives don’t really say “stick to sports,” it seems to me to be the go-to line for conservatives. I think they say it because they’re dogmatic, they fear the conversation, it makes them anxious and that anxiety becomes anger.

I think Flo used to be great for wrestling and I still think they’re good, but I don’t visit the site anymore. I can’t see myself visiting again now that their rankings are behind the paywall. I just get the Big Ten To Go option for wrestling season and cancel after Big Tens. I really like their podcast, though!
I had a Flo subscription but cancelled it after the PSU-OkSt debacle a few years ago. I still hear a lot of complaints about their streaming so I’m gonna hold off on trying it again until I hear a lot more positive feedback and they offer the month-to-month option again. I feel like most of us consumers aren’t big on being locked into contracts. That’s a big reason I won’t go back to cable. Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, etc. all have month-to-month options, so that’s what I use.
Thats just my take.

The guy is 28 years, and he’s a world champion wrestler with an Ivy League degree. I think I’ll give him a pass if he says something that sounds arrogant, because I said stuff that was way dumber than this when I was his age.

What books have you written? I’m guessing I can find them on Amazon?
Also, I think an NFL cornerback would make a fantastic wrestler.

Here’s the really funny part:
The dumbasses that are crying about “participation trophies” are *THE SAME PEOPLE THAT STARTED GIVING PARTICIPATION TROPHIES*
LMAO
