I think it comes down to what we consider "serious money". I found a reference that claims Cael makes $175k a year, not counting bonuses. That sounds ludicrously lowball to me, especially since John Smith supposedly makes $250k a year and he can't carry Cael's jockstrap as a coach. In any case either $175k or $250k are pretty good money, but not what I'd consider "serious money" (millions).

You mean the John Smith who's coached 5 National championship teams? That one?

  2. Anyone offended by that celebration, which was very clearly planned, needs some help.

I thought it was awesome. Carr seems like a really good young man. He definitely seems to get along with Brent. Really good stuff all around.

  3. Sometimes I think people just look for things to fit whatever narrative they're projecting.

Spencer MAY just be tired? In pain? Emotional after winning it, while overcoming adversity? Overwhelmed? All of the above?

I wouldn't read too much into it.

Also, Marinelli was celebrating with the team. I saw Murin smiling. Could things have gone better? Sure. But...National Champions.

Which one is better?  The guy who slapped a kimura lock on Micic at the tournament three years ago, or the one that Ben Askren had some not so flattering things to say about on FRL?

I'm not sure I'd judge another humans character based on something said by Ben Askren, of all people.

Dude makes his living talking s***

Just plugging my favorite yearly NCAA pick em pool. I like the format of this one better than any of the others that I've done. And while I'm all for charity, I like that most of the money goes to actual payouts in this one ($22 per entry, $2 goes to the guys that run it).

Pick one wrestler for each top 16 seed, and four from the remaining seeds, no limit to how many wrestlers you can pick from each weight, highest scoring teams win. If you can run a google doc and have Venmo or PayPal, pretty easy to get set-up.

    Thank you!

  6. Saldate is going to be good.

Cannon from NU was a surprise to me.

Michigan State in 5th place with no finalists.. I’ve been the first to give them crap but credit must be given where credit is due. Hell of a tournament.

Relative to where they were it’s miraculous

I'm happy to see them and Purdue fighting.

What the heck is going on with tOSU and Wisconsin?
