Just because you don’t agree automatically makes it false?  Interesting.
For sake of argument let’s say expectations are about the same (which is probably accurate).  Very safe to say patience at Iowa is a little more thin than at Okie State. And there’s historical evidence to support it. But yet Brands doesn’t find himself on the hot seat.

They dont care about college wrestling that's apparent from the lack of programs. Imagine what a USC or UCLA could do with the resources they have. the in state talent seems to be on the rise over the last 10 years or so.

I like a push out rule it would reward the wrestler trying to get a TD on the edge when the other is is diving out trying to avoid giving it up.

It's funny because I listed it in the greatest matches thread. Tie match with under min to go. Jaggers scores 4 points to take a 5-1 lead and has to hold off Mendes on 1 foot.

Well when you move up to a new weight every year, that can happen.  He was a surprise his true freshman year, so people picked against him. Caldwell was at 149 his sophomore year, so people picked Caldwell (who then got hurt).  When he went to 165, Taylor was coming off winning the Hodge, so many people picked Taylor (despite Dake's dominance the summer prior). Then in freestyle, people have picked Taylor, Cox, and Burroughs over Dake....And 2 of those three predictions were right.  He has universally been favored in practically every other matchup. But his fans love to complain about how everyone always picks against him, so I guess it's true.

Sublime607 reacted to fightingsioux in New York to get rid of 99lb weight class
New forum member here, I apologize for replying to such an old thread but this is a subject near and dear to my heart.
I was a small, scrawny, kind of lost HS freshman on Long Island way back in 1961. Bullied. An older neighborhood kid was a wrestler and took pity, encouraged me to go out for the team.
I could have stepped on the scale in full uniform including shoes (and I believe I did!) and made 95 ( I think that was the lowest weight then). Wrestled 95 again as a sophomore, 103 as a junior, 112 as a senior. Was successful, had an identity, had teammates around to watch my back,  no longer bullied.
Wound up wrestling in college, Division 2 then Big Ten, 115 as a freshman, 123 as a sophomore, 132 as a junior and senior. Wrestled tournaments around the country for 10 years, coached HS for over 25 years. I'm a small, thin, fit old dude now! :-)
Wrestling became one of the most important things in my life and literally changed my life. I don't think that would have happened unless there was a place where I could fit in.

I really dont understand the mentality this isn't about Cornell or PSU it's bigger than that. It's about representing the United States and both guys are fine choices just think Yianni chances to medal are better but won't cry over spilled Milk either way. Let's put school allegiance aside and replace it with the pledge.

I have watched these 2 wrestle some years now. As I see it Zain's muscles are a bit memory locked into Folkstyle. He needs more time. Yanni seems to be there now.
Their matches hinge on only 1 or 2 moves. An enjoyable toss up for now.

Wrestlers oppose gauging performance based on stereotypes like skin color, gender, and body type, which is why wrestlers promote their businesses to all populations, and why we are more successful than those in our markets that discriminate, stereotype, and lose.
