I think it's proof of Penn State bias and based on how dominant Zain was his last 3 years in college.  Does it seem a bit coincidental that all of those world champs/medalist were not at their best when he beat them (I might buy this argument for 1 or 2 but 5 times is certainly a lot of times to get lucky).  Stieber has been ultra elite on every level he has competed.  Ohio 4xer, age group world medalist, multiple time Fargo Champ, 4th at the US Open as a hs junior, 4x NCAA champ, World Champ.  If you question the legitimacy of Stieber's World Title than you have to question Dake and Cox's as well because they are at non-Olympic weights and they arguably could not make the US squad at their Olympic weights.  Many guys have trouble with injuries, weight, burnout, and other things at the end of long competitive career.  I would argue that Stieber was about as consistent as you can get on every level until those last 2 years.
I would like to address the JO thing separate.  JO is a great wrestler and a 2x champ.  A junior JO (coming off an undefeated NCAA championship as a sophmore) lost to a redshirt freshman Stieber based on the rules of that time.  Whatever you think of the ending, if you re watch the match Stieber was the aggressor and controlled the pace throughout, this after being handled by Oliver in their meeting earlier in the year.  That in itself says a lot about Logan Stieber's greatness.  JO is kind of a foil for Logan Stieber as he gets tons credit for his potential in freestyle/international but has never really had the results on the international scene that a lot of people (particularly on this board) think he should.  This is not meant to disparage JO, he is a great wrestler, but when you look at the perception of each guy vs. the actual results it doesn't line up.

That is good to know, thanks for sharing.  Is just did not make sense that people would get sick playing tennis outdoors
However, there is the matter of the MLB players and staff getting sick https://mlb.nbcsports.com/2020/06/15/several-mlb-players-staff-test-positive-for-covid-19/,

Yep, Apple and oranges. That tournament practiced ZERO social distancing in any form or kind. They did zero testing. The stands were packed with no one wearing masks and the players were partying at night clubs afterwards not to mention playing soccer and basketball together. It's a terrible representation of how sports can and should be played during the pandemic. Several tennis tournaments have taken place recently with excellent safety protocols.
I remember watching that tennis tournament on TV and thinking oh ok this tournament must have taken case before the pandemic. I was utterly shocked when I found out it wasn't.

Those players were apparently filmed dancing in a nightclub.  I think it’s more likely they got it (or spread it) there than while playing tennis.

I just posted something about this on the international forum.  Despite being a 4xer and a world champ people always undersell Stieber's accomplishments because of inconsistency due to injury/weight near the end of his freestyle career.  Dude owns career international wins over Romanov, Aliyev, Lomtadze, Chakaev, and Sat.  He destroyed Pico and owns the advantage in the career series with Zane.  Stieber in top form is the man.  As far Stieber vs. Molinaro, props to Frank for winning the trials and making the team but Logan had a win over that year's Olympic Gold Medalist Romanov, won worlds at a lower weight, and I believe owns the advantage in their career series.

Who are some guys who you would like to watch wrestle at the 2021 trials? Obviously not saying any of them would win or do well just guys who would be fun to watch?
I would love to see Cejudo and Cormier jump into the mix. You can't say they are too old. Another MMA guy would be Pico. Stieber coming back would be cool to see.
Obviously most of these are not realistic.

I never tried to get out of a match but I did have a trick to get a break/stoppage. I used to make my headgear a little loose and when I was on bottom I could put my forehead on the mat and push my headgear down over my face to my neck. The ref would always stop the match so I could get up and get my wind back before a restart.
I know it sounds lame but I was always dead tired from cutting weight.

A great card of wrestling with all proceeds going to athletes, RTC’s and Beat the Street Chicago. As a wrestling community let’s get behind this event! Spread the word!

While I agree that technically Frank’s result is more impressive to the avid fan, when they both walk into a bar and Logan gets to say he was World Champion, he’s going to be more impressive to the general population.

Stieber beat Zain 8-6 in 2016 Olympic trials (and it wasn't really that close as Stieber gave up a late TD to preserve the win). That makes his career record 3-1 against Zain. (Scores were 8-6, 7-3, 7-3 and 2-4 SV). Have they wrestled any other time since college?
Stieber is a former World Champion, World Cup champion and has beaten multiple past World Champions. Zain is a former Cadet World Champion. Had Stieber not lost to Molinaro by criteria at the 2016 Olympic Trials there's a decent chance he would have won Gold as he had beaten Gold Medalist Ramonov 9 month earlier.
Also as far as common freestyle opponents Stieber easily beat Pico 13-4 while Pico beat Zain easily 8-5 in 2016 (4-1 takedowns). The Stieber match is the only time I've ever seen Pico get dominated in a match. (Pico is actually 6-0 in his career vs Zain and 8-5 was the closest match. Good thing for Zain that Pico didn't go to college or he might not have any NCAA individual championships)
Zain is a beast but I think ppl are forgetting how good Logan was. He is easily one of the top 5-10 USA wrestlers of the last decade.

I agree with this... But I feel like the argument often goes that young Zain beat old Logan and thus would have surpassed him.  With that I disagree.  See their 2016 Olympic trials match sandwiched between Zains first 149 title and his first hodge season.

Downey is perpetually underrated because of his personal antics. Not a fan myself, but he can wrestle. He's definitely one of the biggest, strongest 86 kg guys in America, so if Hall is going to have problems there, he would have problems with Downey.
I think it's an interesting match up because Downey doesn't really attack the legs at all, which takes Hall's counter wrestling out of the picture. If Hall can hold his ground, I think he finds his way to a takedown and a close win, but that's not a given. Downey has marched some really good guys around the mat.
