  1. I never wrestled, but I did grow up in PA, so heavy exposure to it. I played soccer and ran track in high school and DII college, then went the rugby path. I remember Cary Kolat's back flip when I was in high school, that was a big deal, one of my classmates placed at the PIAA his senior year. Forgot about wrestling for about twenty years until I read about Cael Sanderson coming to Penn State. I've been following college wrestling ever since. What I like about wrestling is the technical skill it takes. And it hurts. So I automatically can relate to that after playing 13 years of top level rugby.

  2. As jubilant as I was last year when Bo stuck Myles, I was honestly kind of equally miserable that he lost against Dean. It's all fun to have rivalries and hate other teams, but there was something about Myles that surpassed where he went to school. This interview that was posted on Flowrestling captures why I think I might have become a fan of his. And while I was relieved that Nolf got away with one in the semis, the look on Hidlay's face when it was done stole any happiness that I could feel that the better wrestler prevailed. Both Hidlay and Martin are the wrestlers that I've been thinking about the most post-tournament. As long as Myles never wrestles another Penn State wrestler ever again, I hope he becomes a world champion in his future. I also hope that those of you who hate PSU can feel similar thoughts about some of our guys as well.

I haven't seen much of Lewis. All I know is he's a junior world champ. I'm picking Cenzo out of ignorance.

I think Hall-Zahid is a tossup, but I give Hall the slightest of edges because he'll have the crowd.

I think Nolf, Nickal, and Cassar will win.

Lewis looked really dangerous last night. I hope Cenzo conjures up his Saturday night magic. It really would be a shame if he can't in his hometown. Zahid is out for blood I think, and if Hall effectively counter-wrestles, I don't think he gains any new fans with that style of wrestling. I just rewatched the Scuffle final betwen White and Cassar, and I don't see Cassar getting to White's legs tonight, either. But again, I really don't mind being wrong.

Savage. Serious question though, did Brody Teske get Schnupped at wrestle-offs this year, or was it the plan all along for him to RS?

Good question. I really don't know and I haven't seen any word at all regarding him since his disappointing performance at the Last Chance Open. I didn't see any value of rushing Teske since it would be more valuable for him to RS and be more productive next year when we lose points output from Nickal and Nolf leaving. Every little bit will help and burning the RS this year wouldn't have done anything for the team, in my opinion, except maybe chase the record point total at NCAAs, which I doubt Cael really wanted to make a serious push to do. But I'm pretty sure that Teske destroys Schnupp in the practice room.

Apologies have seen some crazy posts today on flow articles was hopefull they didn’t make there way over here. Glad to know that not everyone has lost their mind.

I asked my wife what the chances were of Schnupp being a National Champion in two years and she literally started laughing out loud and said my optimism was cute. I told her that I didn't think it would happen, I was just curious what she thought the chances of that happening were.  I root hard for the kid, but we now call anyone who is clearly out of their element "Schnuppy"
