Rugbypoet got a reaction from pamela in US Open Senior Men's Freestyle discussion thread
I thought I heard that he had to be on Mat #6 immediately and thought "that's sorta impossible as he's losing to Johnson at the moment"

Rugbypoet reacted to MrDream in Cael's in match coaching
"Cunningham the brains and Cael is the face".....
If you believe matches are won due to instructions being screamed at a kid during match...then I can't help you.
Maybe the match is won from killing the recruiting game, intense practice sessions engulfed in high level technique training and live sessions, and full trust that the athletes you trained will carry out what they learned in practice.
^^^^All of that......is because of Cael.

Rugbypoet reacted to misterc in Myles Martin 3'rd Place Interview
I had conflicting feelings for Myles after his semis match. A bit angry (big fan of his and tOSU) that he let the match go where it did and heart broken for what it cost him.
After listening to Nolf's semi and final interviews, I became a big fan of his. I hope he goes on to do great things on the international scene. I know I will be cheering hard for him when he wears the USA singlet.

As jubilant as I was last year when Bo stuck Myles, I was honestly kind of equally miserable that he lost against Dean. It's all fun to have rivalries and hate other teams, but there was something about Myles that surpassed where he went to school. This interview that was posted on Flowrestling captures why I think I might have become a fan of his. And while I was relieved that Nolf got away with one in the semis, the look on Hidlay's face when it was done stole any happiness that I could feel that the better wrestler prevailed. Both Hidlay and Martin are the wrestlers that I've been thinking about the most post-tournament. As long as Myles never wrestles another Penn State wrestler ever again, I hope he becomes a world champion in his future. I also hope that those of you who hate PSU can feel similar thoughts about some of our guys as well.

Isn't that what happens when you counter wrestle 99.9% of the time?

I think there was talk here (on the forum) that Teske was too small to beat out Schnupp for the starting spot but I was wondering about that since he wrestled 133 at the Last Chance. You're right that it's probably better for his development to RS. In hindsight, it might have been better for RBY also.

I hate giving props to any Buckeye, but every year I end up unwillingly liking Martin more than before. Classy interview answers.

My favorite part of the HWT match was seeing Mason Manville cheering when Cassar got the takedown. Part of me thinks he was glad partly because they didn't somehow make him bump up to wrestle Steveson. The guy has been a warrior for the team this year.

How odd... if the kids are calm, composed and not fresh off a match they can give succinct interviews. They can actually come up with answers that make sense and are directed towards the question.
Weird right?
Also, Myles was very eloquent and enjoyable to listen to; that coming from a PSU fan.

Rugbypoet reacted to StallWarning in Todrank
Todrank: You see that guy over there? I'm going to taunt him when we wrestle. I'm gonna do this silly dance with wavey arms I've been working on.
Teammate: Wait, that guy RIGHT there?
Todrank: Yeah, him with the short hair.
Teammate: Yeah, that's Jason Nolf. You're going to taunt him to his face?
Todrank: Yeah, whenever we wrestle.
Teammate: It better be a REALLY good dance, bro.

A new word has been added to the Wrestling Lexicon:
Todrank: (i) To taunt a superior opponent in order to commit a gleeful suicide in front of a frothing crowd and/or to be eviscerated shortly thereafter in just retaliation (ii) Fifteen seconds of sudden fame followed woefully by 15 years of expected shame.
