1) Purdue should have handled where to put Limmex better last year. He was a senior who was a grinder for them for three seasons prior. Keep in mind Limmex is a Michigander guy(him and Schroder both went to Grand Rapids Catholic Central high school). I believe he was better than Filius and more consistent than Parriot(who looked to have weight issues). That aside, let him go 165 the entire season then...
2) For whatever reason it still annoys me that he was able to duck every difficult match, save for Eirman in 2018-2019 and 'earn' the 1 seed.
3) No. I'm wired a bit differently. I am actually a fan of all the B1G and MAC schools and will root for them against other conferences for every sport. Michigan schools before B1G before MAC. I pretty much follow where the kiddos from Michigan head and root for those colleges, too. My blood flows green blood, though.

What doesn't make sense is that the International Judo Federation is holding a Grand Slam event in Hungary starting tomorrow. USA Judo is sending 13 athletes to compete. If USA Judo is sending athletes and a delegation to compete in Europe, it does not make sense that USA Wrestling would skip the World Championships.

Spey - My bad. I didn't understand that if a competitor lost his first round match, he would be done and finish in 5-8 place. I thought there was a wrestleback for 5th/7th.
I am a paid subscriber to Flo and I appreciate you guys putting on events, especially now with all the shutdowns due to covid. Sorry for the confusion on my end.

They said they won't air the picks as it wasn't that interesting.
Rasheed had first pick, picked the top
Gavin had the second pick, he picked the "4" seed(more on this later)
Jackson had the third pick and he picked the "3" seed
Foster picked fourth and picked the "2" seed
Myles Martin had the fifth pick and picked a match against Foster
Brooks had the sixth pick and he went MIA so they skipped him and let Lujan picked a match against Gavin
They let everyone vote for Brooks' spot and put him with Nate Jackson
The last pick, Dean had the choice of switching with someone so he bumped Gavin against Rasheed and took his spot in the "4" seed spot.
It was weird that no one wanted to wrestle Rasheed. I would have likely picked him over the others for a match especially because it's early and you'd get maximum rest between matches.
ShakaAloha reacted to calot in Dylan Ragusin - Impressive
I expect after the NCAA vote tomorrow this year season won't count towards eligibility.I imagine it helped him some training under Sergei but he won 2 Fargo titles and was 6 time Fargo AA.He was trained by Izzy his whole life so he had great coaching.
ShakaAloha reacted to iwrite in Greg Strobel
I had the great honor of working with Greg during my two-plus years as director of media relations and communications at USA Wrestling, back in the mid 1980s. My office was right across the hall from Greg's and we spent a lot of time talking about wrestling, and life in general. Also, I was in press row in 1973 at the U. of Washington when he won his first of two NCAA titles and was voted O.W. Greg and his wife Donna and their two daughters and my wife Bev and our three kids got together often to play shuffleboard and Trivia Pursuit in our family room. After Bev and I left USA Wrestling, we exchanged Christmas cards every year..
Greg was always upbeat and enthusiastic and very generous with his time to strangers. He stayed in great shape, working out all the time. We last talked shortly after Donna passed away and he shared an incredibly intimate story that I will always cherish. I say with all sincerity -- Greg Strobel was as nice and as thoughtful a person as he was a great wrestler. What a tremendous loss for the entire wrestling community. -- Mike Chapman
ShakaAloha reacted to ugarte in Cael Valencia
You are underrating how Cael cashes his blue chips. A lot of guys come in with accolades but they leave Happy Valley with hardware. As a Cornell fan it gives me no pleasure to admit this.
In any event, a pretty decent anecdotal proof of his coaching ability is all of the blue chips that go to him to be coached up.

ShakaAloha got a reaction from Jim L in Jordan Burroughs commits murder
The year Kyle Snyder last won worlds was 2017, just like JB.
JB has a world medal from 2019, Taylor was injured in 2019.
JB is still carrying our flag, along with the other 4 you named. To say otherwise is disrespectful to everything he has done and continues to do for USA Wrestling.
