Greco translates to being an offensive lineman more than freestyle does, coon is also 6’5 and incredibly smart, I’d say the guy has as good a chance as anyone to make a living as a tackle ....coon is literally a world silver medalist, idk how anyone can really be far far better a wrestler than him, you want to say Neal would beat coon head to head or that Neal had a better career bc he got gold when coon took home a bunch of silvers I’d agree , but this thought that coon isn’t a world class wrestler and athlete is ridiculous

A blast double does not an offensive lineman make.  If you look at all the OT’s in the NFL, most of them look like Coon more than Neal.
The ability to be an O lineman is about reading, understanding and anticipating the moves of athletic freaks who have one job, get to the ball.  Your #1 job is to get in their way, not get them off their feet to their back.
Being an O lineman is very mentally taxing.  I like Coon for that better than Neal, no offense to Neal.

Pretty sure McKenna got into the Wharton business school, so training at Penn makes perfect sense if he’s going to school there...and Tervel left because Ryan said the team isn’t currently good enough to be focusing on freestyle so he was putting Free on the back burner until they improved their mat wrestling ...Tervel being a freestyle guy decided to follow another opportunity

I saw this tweet today from Minnesota, and I was struck by the fact that the last Gopher champ was Tony Nelson in 2013. If you had asked me when the last Minnesota champ had been, I probably would have guessed later than 2013, even if I couldn't say who it was.
Got me thinking about last champs. Here's a list of the last Division I champ for each team. The 2021 champs last wins were Iowa (2019), Penn State (2019), OK St. (2017), Iowa State (2015), Minnesota (2013), Stanford (2004), UNC (1995). Please let me know if there are errors in the table below

Antitroll2828 got a reaction from TobusRex in How can an actively competing, elite athlete like Askren be so out of shape?
I know a 63 yr old who is not a professional athlete and who just had double knee replacement and never got close to looking as fat and out of shape as Ben did, so I don’t  think the hip replacement has anything to do with it...he’s just lazy nowadays and pretty much a grifter

Yea , I think Goodale did an interview early in the  season saying Nick had 1 semester left to graduate and hadn’t decided was he was going to do, so I would imagine if he decides to wrestle one more year it would have to be as a graduate transfer

Rusty passed of a sudden heart attack. I didn't realize not everyone would be able to see the Instagram post.
His father (Connor's grandfather) was a sports announcer until he passed, and there is a park named after him in Tennessee. Connor's mother Mary requested that any donations be made to a kids sports program in order to contribute to Rusty and his father's commitment to ensuring kids access to athletics.
Sounds like an awesome family that lost a truly great man.

Rusty was a longtime contributor to my network and this is heart-breaking. Parents like him make fans out of a lot of people - his support of his son and the path to college made me want to follow Connor and his career. This is never easy, but this one is a gut punch.

Has yianni ever actually beat zain other then that one meaningless tournament overseas? And now he’s unlikely to get past him? I love yianni but my god he is the most overhyped wrestler in America, he’s lost to JO, Zain, McKenna and Nick Lee domestically the last 2 years, yet still hear people say he’s the future of the weight
