I would think this depends heavily on whether or not Gabe is staying.  If he is leaving as well, I would think it has a LOT more to do with things other than Max not fitting into the lineup........

Not sure about that... obviously time will tell, but those two brothers have a very strong bond and I have heard Gabe speak several times to how he lives to help Max achieve his goals.

    157 Adam Santoro (11-13)
165 Jake Brindley (6-8) or Milik Dawkins (9-8)
    174 Andrew Berreyesa (7-2)
    184 Jonathan Loew (20-10)
    197 #3 Ben Darmstadt (22-5)
    HWT Brendan Furman (16-11)

    And this:
Womack has been out of commission since the end of December, but hopes to return to the mat for Cornell by the end of the season.

Would love to see Womack finish his career down at 165. He was so entertaining when down at that weight.

Here's the matchups with Hah-vahd, per the Cornell Athletics site:

    125

    Dom LaJoie (11-13)

#15 Nolan Hellickson (11-8) or Beau Bayless (12-9)

    133

    #5 Chas Tucker (21-0)

    Michael Jaffe (12-11)

    141

    Noah Baughman (16-9)

    Lukus Stricker (13-12)

    149

    Hunter Richard (15-7)

    Aaron Kruk (4-10)

    157

    Adam Santoro (9-11)

    Hunter Ladnier (13-6)

    165

Jake Brindley (4-6) or Andrew Merola (5-6)

    #17 Phil Conigliaro (19-6)

    174

Andrew Berreyesa (1-0) or Milik Dawkins (9-8)

    Pierce Bausano (0-8)

    184

Jonathan Loew (17-9) or Jonah Barley (5-6)

    Michael Doggett (7-15)

    197

Jonathon Fagen (6-6) or #11 Ben Darmstadt (19-5)

    Evan Callahan (0-4)

    HWT

    Brendan Furman (13-10)

    #9 Yaraslau Slavikauski (19-7)

Harvard has a couple of pretty good freshmen in Phil Conigliaro at 165, and Yaraslau Slavikauski (That's even harder to say than Diakamihalis) at 285.  Hellickson at 125 and Ladner at 157 are pretty solid veterans.  Certainly will be some competative individual matches, and I can see Harvard possibly getting 4 wins here.

Should be fun to watch—bump to keep this in the front page.

Yes it is. You're Ivy in name only in wrestling and a select couple of other sports. Smart play for the school to look the other way on a relatively small number of students to establish a perennial power on a par with the Big 10 boys, where admission standards are non-existent for the top dogs coming out of h.s.

Actually I take it back, you're pretty much Ivy in name only in general as you're really nothing like the other seven Ivies at all.

Everyone seems to know this except you.

And your bitter, probably because your significant other doesn’t respect your educational history. You sound like a name calling child.

let me try this again. What's up with Yapoujian. He has been ranked in the top 20 by Wrestlestat since almost the beginning of the year. He still is in the listing that includes all wrestlers ( injured, redshirts, etc.). But, he has been removed from the starting line-up with no explanation that I can see. So, anybody got a clue? Is he injured? Did he flunk out...transfer?  Or, is he being soundly beaten in wrestle-offs by Santoro?

He is injured. Saw him at the dual in a knee immobilizer.

I did see once later in the match that he was holding his arm after going OOB.  I hope it's not serious.  That he finished the match is hopefully encouraging.

Darmstadt MFF out of the Columbia match is pretty disconcerting.

I was at the dual and Darmy looked pretty banged up. If it was his rib/costochondral cartilage or even intercostal muscle it could keep him on the shelf for a while.  Poor guy can’t catch a break.

Also Womack was on the sideline in a sling and Yapoujian was in a knee immobilizer.... Hope we see all these guys healthy for NCAAS.

At this point... there are a couple "truths":

    * Yianni does this to himself.  He doesn't separate from the competition by getting to his offense, and puts himself into dangerous scrambles and counter-wrestling situations.  By doing so, the 2nd truth happens...

    * NEVER put it in the hands of the refs.  EVER.

Two or not to Two?  That's really NOT the question.  The question is why Yianni continues to wrestle this way.  Sure, it's his "style", but neither he nor his fans should be butthurt when he loses matches like this, given the reasons above.

I don't feel sorry for him.  Improve.  Widen the gap.  Or don't.

    Well said.

If a solid single is a matchup problem, then my point is even more relevant. Koll needs to get Yianni a sprawl for Christmas. I say this and a huge fan, by the way.

Agree that Yianni’s leg defense is questionable. Always has been. That’s how we do it in Ithaca.

With the exception of the McKenna match, I think his tournament has been great.

Seems Yianni has stopped improving after losing JO as a training partner. Still gives up his legs way too much to be a consistent winner against his top competition. For a guy with arms twice the length of his legs, he may want to rethink his approach.

Vito looks as good as you can while getting teched. I actually mean that seriously.

i don’t understand Garrett. One of the most off/on guys I’ve ever seen.

Lol to your Yianni point. Joey is a matchup problem, always has been. He is positionally sound and a very intelligent wrestler. Yianni lives and dies by the sword when he fails to initiate lots of offense.
