  1. Jordan Leen was a 8 seed when he won it. 157 was more a crap shoot in the 2005-2008 time frame where anyone could win of the top 10
  2. Why is he holding a round globe when the earth is flat? Can’t take this Jabroni serious anymore
  3. Jayson Ness was also very similar, even when he made 125, he kept his weight under 135 offseason, heavier obviously once he went 133. Back to Greg, if his name was Greg Peterson I think people would chill out a bit on him. He will likely still be tough as time goes on but some guys who roll through in high school can’t accept getting beat on in college.
  4. No he didn’t, he beat a true freshmen RBY who wasn’t even close to what he would become.
  5. Steiner won it at 142 the year before and dropped to 134. He wrestled 142 and AA’d his first 3 years
  6. Zach Sanders if he could have wrestled 118 Kevin Steinhaus I believe would have faired better at 197 than as a overgrown sucked down 184 in the end
  7. Pat Mineo posted a Kerkvliet picture standing next to Brandon Paulson attempting to enhance his size. I would say Kerkvliet is about 240 in shape. Most the top guys are 240-260 anyways, he’s better off with speed than extra weight.
  8. He did t have any signature wins during the season and ran into a relatively easy backside. He beat Washington from Indiana and McNally from Kent St to AA, 2 over seeded wrestlers. He got 9th in Big 10s and was pinned by Jake Allar.
  9. People are way too high on Jackson Turley because his magical ncaa run last year. He was what #27 seed?
  10. Even bigger than just a spot, in 2010 Trent and Travis Paulson had to wrestle off to decide who made the world team.
  11. Sasso has already been a finalist so yes he’s a title contender. Kharchla hasn’t proven he can remain healthy for a season as of yet. Can he wrestle 7 minutes hard against top guys? He has a lot to prove to me right now. OToole is Missouri’s guy, Elams and Mauller could be top 4 as well. Gable for sure, Braxton Lee could get himself into the convo as well as McKee being a potential finalist if he is consistent. The past 2 seasons he’s beaten practically everyone but he has a ton of head scratching losses.
  12. Being honest here, I kind of see them in the same area as Minnesota and Missouri points wise. 1 true title contender with about 4 others expected to AA and another 3-4 guys who will be 7-8 place to round of 16 guys, depending on the draw.
  13. This teams goal is a trophy. All in, Tabor at 197 if he can make it, I believe Bergeland can make 141 for his senior year. He is the best guy if he makes it. I would really like to see Nagao make the Oklahoma St type cut for 133 for a year
  14. At the bare minimum you have to be able to be great on your feet and able to get away in college. He can’t be a 9/10 on his feet and 1/10 in the other 2 positions.
  15. Why the hell won’t Snyder move up to wrestle Zare if Gable doesn’t go? He’s not that big of HWT.
  16. What are Sammies relationships like with the former head coaches he worked for such as Manning, Jack Spates, Brian Smith, Brad Penrith, etc? He just comes off like a “Everyone is an *******, except me of course” kind of guy
  17. You are out of your mind. This set of rules is probably the best set of rules in my lifetime and I am 35. Better than the marathon 5 min period era, 50x better than the ball grab era which was complete trash wrestling. I for one am not the biggest fan of the push out points but honestly most guys do t really go for them the way they did 15 years ago where guys would pick a single up and drive a guy out of bounds(takedowns we’re just 1 point in that era). 2-3 minute periods and a time to talk to coach for 30 seconds. Guys gotta be in shape unlike Musukaev and Gazyumov
  18. Russia really should have sent a long in the tooth Gatsalov in 2016 even losing to Bolt who was roided up. I mean it was a ton of 35 year old guys like Yazdani, Gazyumov, Ibragimov, Saritov, Andriytsev and a young Snyder. Looking at it now it makes sense that Snyder could handle a bunch of guys cardio wise who weren’t in great shape in there primes let alone 31-35 years old.
  19. I remember the days of watching YouTube videos pre 2010 of Steiner saying how close we are and to improve this or this and we will be competitive. We heard it for years and years and finally the expectations is if you make the team you expect to medal. We are going to be year in and out right there with Japan from now on.
  20. I think Reza Yazdani in 2011-2013 would be a tough matchup as he was only 5’8-5’9” tall and built like a tank. He smashed Varner. Varner drew into a weak side in the olympics and Yazdani had to go through Gadisov early on and was injured in the semis. Man that was a brutal side and when 96kg was the toughest weight by far. 97 is one of the worst weights now, probably the worst Olympic weight depth wise. When Snyder won it was because he got the previous era of mediocre conditioning guys tired such as Gadisov, Gazyumov and a undersized Sadulaev. Only difference is he realized all he had to do to beat Snyder is improve his conditioning and grow into the weight naturally and since then Snyder has had nothing for him.
  21. If Suriano goes to Michigan do they have more Italians than Rutgers?
  22. Evolution of Regional Training Centers is it. Look at the point in time our results started to take off. You get junior level guys wrestling senior level early on and those kids get good fast.
  23. The problem for CASS is speed. He isn’t fast compared to the top hwts. He will be way too slow for Ferrari. he probably is as heavy as he was when he was fatter, I would guess 255
