Banning Russia?

Recommended Posts

There is some talk of the Russian track team being banned from Rio. But it looks to me that Russia had more positive tests in wrestling when one accounts for the relative size of the two teams.

Is there any talk of banning Russia from wrestlling.

That would be smaller news overall, but would have a much greater impact on the medal count.

athletics is in hot water because they got caught covering up the positive tests or destroying samples they knew were positive. the number of positive tests doesn't have much correlation to the scandal, other than drawing attention that russia and turkey have significantly more positive tests than any other country.

If you're an athlete, do you prefer to compete at an Olympics w/o Russia, and thereby leave a huge asterisk next to your title, or take your chances against the potentially chemically enhanced wrestling superpowers?

Personally, I'm taking the latter, especially with the increased testing and scrutiny bound to follow.

The Russian vs Burroughs also was huge, l commented many times during the match that The Russian made JB look small.

The guy from China who wrestled Metcalf this year looked like he got his hands on Captain America's Super-Soldier Serum.
