2015 Walsh Ironman Tournament--> Predictions?

Blair, Sem, and Graham appear to be the contenders (OPRF not quiye as good on paper as in past).  I would not be surprised if any of the three win it, but I am leaning toward Graham.  I think the team race will be close.

Although Blair has the most seeds with 10 (to Graham's 8 and Wyoming Seminary's 7), the loss of #3-seed van der Merwe at 132 really hurts their chances, as both WS and SPG should have at least two champs apiece. Key probably/possible match-ups will be WS's 285 Hilliard against Blair's Putnam in the quarters, WS's #8 Verallis versus Blair's #9 Karoly at 160, Blair's #1 Dallavia against Graham's #5 Jordan at 170, and WS's #4 Deitrich against Blair's #5 Singletary at 195. Not much head-to-head with Graham and Blair early, but a fair amount of WS-Blair.

Individuals from Colorado to watch.

Schwartz 106 and shultz 220 from ponderosa

Robison 120 Yapoujian 106 Pomona

All freshman

Colorado with all of their Olympic athletes and the OTC in their backyard wow!! Why is it that Colorado never has any "homegrown" hammers!  I'm talking Manville's, Jo Jo Smith's, Marstellar's, Valencia's, Pico's.  I would undoubtedly expect some Rocky Mountain hammers coming out of there.  But we rarely see that, it's completely sporadic.  We never see the "proverbial phenom" coming out of that state.  WHY??  Please don't mention Cejudo since he is a product of Arizona. Colorado has never had a men's world or Olympic medalist????   Btw, I also saw a R. Deakin in the seeding at 138.

Good points.

Deak will win some Walsh matches I'm guessing.

Schultz won Fargo 220

Schwartz won Fargo 88 (doesn't count I know)

Robison and Yapojian multiple Tulsa

Maybe the above 4 will make some hammer noise in upcoming years. Schultz recently won gold in Sweden defeating a would cadet medelist on the way.

Looks like seeds are close to being finished.

At 106 watch out for unseeded Shane Hanson-Ashworth  and Jacob Decatur.  They are dangerous floaters in the bracket. Friday will be fun.

Shane is a tough little guy, outstanding wrestler.  There are a few others that jump out at me, but I don't want to jinx them.
