Isaac vs Bo, round 1

Recommended Posts

Bo Jordan didn't wrestle any matches in December of 2014 and the 2 guys he wrestled in the Top 5 he lost to (granted, he beat Walsh from IU in SV, but Walsh was 7th or 8th at the time of their match).

Nickal beat the #1 and #4 guys in the country and was named OW at the Scuffle.

Not really a reach at all.

Those losses came in the NCAA tournament which Nickal hasn't even qualified for yet. Undefeated is better than one loss. Also, Nickal may have beaten the #1 & #4 ranked guy but what do their resumes really look like? Any All American finishes between the two?

Also, since you cited his NCAA tournament losses let's look at his wins. Pinning Cooper Moore, dominating Sulzer, and then stuck Jackson Morse in a minute for 3rd place. Those are pretty good wins. Sulzer and Morse both finished top 5 as well as Taylor Walsh getting runner up. So, the only NCAA top 5 finishers Bo didn't beat during the year were himself and Dieringer.

Didn't Bo just get married? To me, being married, trying to succeed in school and also competing at the highest levels of d1 wrestling is a lot to juggle for a 20 year old kid. Maybe his priorities have shifted to some extent.

Vak = Did someone just try to claim another wrestler was better than a Penn State wrestler?

This coming from a guy that throws a school girl hizzy fit when anyone says anything bad about Iowa....

False.  Go ahead and say whatever you want about Patrick Rhoads.

Did someone really just try to claim another wrestler was better than a Penn State wrestler? Are you trying to get shot?

Where is the post claiming Nickal is better than Jordan?

It looks like the statement(s) is that his season at this point this year looks better than Jordan's.

Which returning AA's did Jordan beat prior to the 2015 post-season? He didn't wrestle Vegas and beat Walsh in SV when Walsh was ranked 7th/8th.

Nickal beat returning AA Epperly in his 2nd match of the season (Epperly was ranked 3rd at the time), beat AA/finalist (157) and #1 ranked Realbuto, then #4 ranked 2015 AA Ramos in back-to-back matches at the Scuffle.

Even with the loss to Jackson, those wins are more impressive than a win over 1 ranked wrestler. And Jordan had a great year.

So Nickal beat the 7th place finisher from 174 last year and then 2 guys who bumped up weights.

Also, pretty sure Jordan beat more than one ranked wrestler. Not gonna take the time to go look it up but Massa, Moore, and Walsh were all ranked.

BoJo can't control who steps on the line across from him. I consider being undefeated to be more impressive than having one loss especially when that loss came to someone outside the top 10.

Just watched the Jordan match on BTN in 60 highlight show. What I can't figure out is why everyone talks about Bo...Seeds him higher, ranked higher, but Isaac always wins the match. I don't get it?

Maybe because Isaac took 7th and Bo took 3rd giving Dieringer his closest match of the year......

Bo has some kind of mystique. He was an undefeated RS freshman with long hair and a 4x state champ. People chalked his loss to Isaac up to the fact they are cousins and assumed it would never happen again. Now it looks like Isaac has Bo's number. Not saying he does, mind you.

I finally caught this match on DVR, and I had no clue that iJo could shoot to the legs like that.  That second high inside reach to bazagar (sp?) was one of the slickest shots I have seen this year, and Bo had so pull some phenomenal hip defense to get away from two more of them later in the match.  I don't get to see Wisconsin wrestle much, but I always had him pegged as a top specialist.  Very impressive.
