LongShot 13 Report post Posted February 17, 2016 Thread below lead me to check how easily one can view rankings on their new format. Conclusion: easy enough. But looking at the p4p rankings, how in the hell is Nolf ranked below IMAR? I'd get it if Nolf had taken a few losses but the kid is undefeated with one "close" match. Very odd indeed. Husker_Du 838 Report post Posted February 17, 2016 i won't speak for christian, who does the the rankings, but i think his (p4p) process lends to wrestlers with more results. i'd just about guarantee if nolf beats imar again, he'll go in front of him. another factor could be (speculating here) that imar was 2-0 against james green who nolf was 0-1 against. I would suggest that Nolf is on a different level this year compared to when he wrestled Green. I might not have said that before recently watching the Nolf-Gantt match from last year's Southern Scuffle, but after watching that match it seemed obvious that Nolf's wrestling this year is at a level he could not (or at least did not) wrestle last year. My point is that the Green match from last year might not be a valid comparison. Not that it really matters.
Dan_Burkholder 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2016 Yeah, great service, including the ranking, but the P4P always confuses me. Seems like it would be better named "Historically Dominant Wrestlers" Ranking or something of the like. Just one man's opinion, but I think the current P4P rankings should be structured more like fantasy football. For example, Peyton is a GOAT, but he wasn't worth much in Fantasy this year. Essentially, if you had to lay some money down on who is going to get you the most team points and/or wins (I know this can be a tricky situation; see Taylor / Dake), who would you pick?
