PANewbie 35 Report post Posted March 8, 2016 (edited) Thanks for that super salient, not at all irrelevant point. If you're going to take a shot you might want to stop by dictionary.com for a look at the definition of "irrelevant" before posting. There's a reason it's called the "pajamas" media. PANewbie 35 Report post Posted March 8, 2016 (edited) How does every post on here turn into Iowa hating on PSU so PSU has to hate on Iowa? Regardless of the reasons, Gilman tried something very dangerous and unnecessary and lost the match because of it................. I wasn't hating on anyone. Just an observation. The way Gilman lost (in OT, not commenting on the actual move) happens to PSU a lot. Heck Mega and Nolf both lost in the finals, and McIntosh won...in OT after 3 periods of stalling (tho Burak couldn't get it to OT). In those bouts, Mega, IMar, Burak were the stallers. (Yes, I think NaTo is better and a PSU guy employed the strategy. Irony not lost). If one isn't a PSU fan those stats should make them happy...it works 50% of the time based on this small sample of 4 bouts. Given that PSU has won 5 of the last 6 B10 titles, I would think people would love to increase their odds to a 50% chance. I'm not taking a shot. As long as the rules allow It's good strategy. If you want to beat the highly aggressive wrestler (PSU most of the time) the stall-a-thon is the way. It's the 'Dean Smith 4 Corners' or 'Hack-a-Shaq' of wrestling. No ifs, ands or buts. Aviator12 208 Report post Posted March 8, 2016 Gilman simply looked to be going for the submission via guillotine choke, but realized he wasn't fighting in the UFC once it was too late.
