Plasmodium 2,303 Report post Posted March 20, 2016 The third title match seems to be the kiss of death. Happened recently to Gwiz, Nelson and Mocco. Are there any 3xers? Gwiz, Nelson, Mocco, Konrad, McCoy, Neal. A bunch of them have won twice.

cradlewiz 22 Report post Posted March 20, 2016 Carlton Haselrig's career is even more amazing when you consider how hard it is for a HWT to win 3x, and he was the last to do it
Plasmodium 2,303 Report post Posted March 20, 2016 There are a few. Thanks for the info. I find the pattern with Gwiz, Nelson and Mocco interesting. Snyder is on pace to continue it.
repechange 184 Report post Posted March 20, 2016 I wonder if Snyder will even return to college wrestling. If he medals in Rio, I doubt we see him in a Buckeye singlet again.
swoopdown 631 Report post Posted March 20, 2016 There are a few. Thanks for the info. I find the pattern with Gwiz, Nelson and Mocco interesting. Snyder is on pace to continue it. Or on pace to duplicate Haselrig's feat if you're an Ohio State fan!
Ultraflex 13 Report post Posted March 20, 2016 Snyder continually talks about how much he loves me vets wrestling (need to compete more) and his love for tOSU. I'd be surprised if he doesn't do what he did this year two more times.
tec87 349 Report post Posted March 20, 2016 Or on pace to duplicate Haselrig's feat if you're an Ohio State fan! well he can't win 6 NCAA titles so he won't be totally duplicating Haselrig. Lol 1 swoopdown reacted to this
LaxHawk174 40 Report post Posted March 20, 2016 I wonder if Snyder will even return to college wrestling. If he medals in Rio, I doubt we see him in a Buckeye singlet again. I see many people say this, but I've never seen a basis for this argument. Maybe wishful thinking for some. But Snyder has stated multiple times in interviews how much he values his college education, and how much he loves competing for the buckeyes individually and the team aspect of it. I doubt we don't see him finish his career as a buckeye, even if he wins gold in Rio.
Perry 1,429 Report post Posted March 20, 2016 I think the statements stem from the prize money pair to Olympic medalists. If snyder accepts this (assuming he medals again) would he be eligible to wrestle ncaas anymore even? There's never been a clear assessment on this. It would be hard to walk away from 250k, though. That's worth quite a bit more than his scholarship, I'd be wiling to bet..
Fishhook 142 Report post Posted March 20, 2016 I wonder if Snyder will even return to college wrestling. If he medals in Rio, I doubt we see him in a Buckeye singlet again. THis makes no sense whatsoever. He will want to become a head coach and must have a college degree. Plus he only has to wrestle a few meets a year to get a full education paid for. Furthermore, there just aren't enough freestyle tournaments a year. He can do Pan Ams, one a year in Russia, US Nationals, and maybe a couple more. He trains full go freestyle right now anyway so he can put off the money in the short term, get his training paid for, as well as his education, wrestle and help his little brother, get to hobnob with Urban Meyer and the football team, and still train daily with Tervel and Rowlands and others. Perry 1,429 Report post Posted March 20, 2016 He could easily self fund his education with 250k. That's way more than the remainder of his scholarship offer.
