The Cael Award

Recommended Posts

Dogs are a terrible idea for any young person with a social life. Tats are fine, but nobody can argue the fact that wrestlers have the worst, most trashed out tattoos imaginable. USA Wrestling logos? Seems like I've seen hundreds of them. Complete garbage. At least get something that looks nice and cost more than $20.

Should it include getting your former Head Coach fired so you can take his job, but then leaving a few years later to go to another school because it is in the mecca for High School wrestling?

You are being hard on Cael. He did not get Bobby Douglas fired. That was Administration - they were afraid Cael would get hired away like Dan Gable was.

Correct - and although the administration dismissed Douglas as head coach, they retained him as a contract employee. A review of public records shows that Douglas' salary was greater than Cael's during the latter's first two years as head coach. Also, Douglas continued as an ISU employee until 2012, long after Cael had left for Penn State. (Not quiet what one considers a normal "firing.")

Better than the "Mark Perry Award", which goes to the coach who comes up with the most fake challenges to cheat lunger timeouts

for his wrestlers throughout a tournament.

Cael Award

Criteria #1: Go undefeated.

Criteria #2: Repeat, Repeat. Repeat.

End of Criteria.

So, criterion #1: Well…….okay

#2: makes said professor award, pretty much unattainable. Perhaps every 40 years, or so ?

Although we can just "Imagine"…………….apologies to John
