boconnell 1,422 Report post Posted April 24, 2016 The worst part about the 2nd period shot clock call is someone confirmed it. Two people calling that stretches the possibilities of incompetence even for international FS refs. Two people calling that reeks of agenda.
BigTenFanboy 1,710 Report post Posted April 24, 2016 When is the next qualifying event? Hoping Mollinaro can punch his ticket there!
lu_alum 713 Report post Posted April 24, 2016 HE'S GOING TO RIO! 2 NCAA wrestlers at the olympics. AWESOME Haven't all of our FS Olympians competed at NCAA institutions?
killdozer 41 Report post Posted April 24, 2016 Way to go J'Den.... BTW why was J'Den put on the shot clock twice. I felt like they were trying to give that guy the victory.
TripNSweep 470 Report post Posted April 24, 2016 Where's our friend Abdullahgadzhi at? I seem to remember earlier he didn't think Cox would beat anyone. 2 newyorkwrestler and Eagle26 reacted to this

Perry 1,190 Report post Posted April 24, 2016 It does. Sad to see at a major event like this, but it is what it is, unfortunately. J'den was able to overcome it thankfully. Should have been 5-1 at most (possibly 5-0)
repechange 184 Report post Posted April 24, 2016 Of course it is an agenda. International officials have a long history of bias against US wrestlers and Rio will not be any different.
straggler 65 Report post Posted April 24, 2016 Cox is contender. He is huge for the weight. He just overpowers his opponents. And he has quickness, length and reach.
Katie 731 Report post Posted April 24, 2016 Now this ref is a joke. Cox kept his cool, too. I like to see that.
straggler 65 Report post Posted April 24, 2016 A chance has it I will be in Rio for the Olympics. Hopefully I can catch the wrestling competition.
Billyhoyle 1,988 Report post Posted April 24, 2016 Haven't all of our FS Olympians competed at NCAA institutions? Both have eligibility remaining. Not very often do we see 1/3rd of the FS olympic team current college athletes. The optimist in me says that it speaks to the current system placing more focus on freestyle. It's also possible that these two are just extremely special talents.
TripNSweep 470 Report post Posted April 24, 2016 Ketoev now competing for Armenia won 7-0 in the semis at 97 over Moldova.
Katie 731 Report post Posted April 24, 2016 Is there any benefit to placing first instead of second?
potdangerous 26 Report post Posted April 24, 2016 Honestly, it really makes the sport less interesting to me. I can't understand why they can't root out the corruption in our sport. When all the refs are from Eastern Bloc and Central Eurasian countries, this is what you get.

newyorkwrestler 258 Report post Posted April 24, 2016 Is there any benefit to placing first instead of second? no, better to not wrestle just to make sure no injury
Billyhoyle 1,988 Report post Posted April 24, 2016 I wonder how Ketoev matches up against the top guys at 97kg. He was considered p4p best in 07.
Katie 731 Report post Posted April 24, 2016 no, better to not wrestle just to make sure no injury In that case, I'd think about forfeiting if I was Cox.
