Greco 66kg...within 1 point of qualifying 3 times

Recommended Posts

Looking back through the results, it's agonizing that we couldn't get 66kg qualified for the Olympics.

We lost 3 heartbreakers that would have sent our rep through.

At worlds last year, Bryce Saddoris lost to the Algerian 5-4 in the match that would have qualified the weight.

Then, Perkins lost 3-2 in the quarters in Mongolia to the Finn who qualified the weight.  Perkins would come back to take bronze on his side of the bracket by beating the guy he would have faced in the semi's rather easily.

Finally, Perkins drops the 4-3 quarterfinal decision to the Kyrgyz yesterday who techs his guy in a few seconds in the semi's to qualify the weight.  In any of those cases, we come one point from almost certainly qualifying the weight.

Have you been in the gym with them training?  How do you know how hard they go?  You're spouting off (again) about something you have no clue about, just like when you gave Cox no chance in Mongolia.

it is not trolling bro....i am right or not???

You are right that you must train hard to have success.  You are not right that training hard is our problem.  Russia and other nations are better than us at Greco because we are not as good at technique.  We don't get tired...that's our only clear strength compared to some other countries.  But we're weak technically.  We lost a couple of these 1-point matches by being behind and trying to catch up.  We have full energy and effort at the end and the opponent is very very tired trying to survive--but it doesn't matter because he already has the lead and we can't get enough points to catch up to win.
