You blame the assistant who coached the only success the team had? Â Â But most importantly, who do you think Roselli is going to hire in September? Â If Roselli is making this offer it is obviously with the current wrestlers in mind. Â By making the offer it is either on Lightner instead of him when Lightner leaves, or it helps keep a few of the existing guys around until Roselli can have a chance to recruit in future years. Â Either way it is the obvious choice to ask him to stick around for a year. Â Â And for Lightner, he collects a paycheck for a year since it is no easier for him to find a job in september than it is for Roselli to assemble a staff in september. The wrestlers had looked at Mike as the guy even when Cody was there. A little surprised Roselli would keep him from the standpoint of potential anemosity from the wrestlers. There's not any redeemable talent in the room among the underclassmen-- save for Jeffries-- and the incoming freshmen haven't seen much of Cody/Lightner. Keeping Lightner is the wrong move.
