Werwa 1 Report post Posted January 27, 2013 Northwestern looked very good against MSU Friday and now heads into Ann Arbor to take on the Wolverines. On paper this looks like a very close match. Mich is looking for its first Big Ten Conference win. Anyone care to make predictions?

wreferee 8 Report post Posted January 27, 2013 Northwestern looked very good against MSU Friday and now heads into Ann Arbor to take on the Wolverines. On paper this looks like a very close match. Mich is looking for its first Big Ten Conference win. Anyone care to make predictions? Agreed. I'll be there and I'll be scared. Hoping, admittedly thru maize and blue tints, for something like 20-19 and: Looking to eke out close ones at 125, 133 and 141. Expecting Grajales to step up at 149. Assuming Welch will pin whoever is sacrificed at 157. Wanting Massa's back to be ok for a tough haul at 165. Praying above results are realized so that Yates won't have to wrestle 174. Planning on getting hammered by whoever NW offers the pleasure at 184. Desperately seeking evidence of Huntley remembering how to pull the trigger at 197. Not looking forward to Apland in his pink tutu against another ranked opponent. All kidding aside, this is a MUST win not only for the team but especially for participation in post season for specific individuals (Rossi, Jackson, Huntley and Apland particularly NEED to win today.) Sheerstress 174 Report post Posted January 27, 2013 Wow, that was a nail biter. Nice to see the upper weights step it up. I was a little surprised about the HWT forfeit. At a time in the season when a lot of true frosh are feeling the grind, Massa seems to be getting stronger week by week.

rwalkowiak1 2 Report post Posted January 27, 2013 Any word on the status of Cam Jackson? That head-and-arm hold that Massa uses is pretty brutal. I think I recall several refs stopping him from using that on occasion.
wreferee 8 Report post Posted January 28, 2013 Hats off to Heald and a big thnx to NU for disallowing having to suffer thru another Apland snoozer. This was a good win for UM, but not a great one. Not meaning to take anything away from Munster (who is a BEAST, physicallly!),but Yates really should NOT be competing until that leg heals/gets fixed. Grajales came out looking like he wanted the major and then rather abruptlyt lost interest. Huntley finally discovered that good things can happen when you shoot. Rossi gave up yet another almost at the buzzer. Zeerip stayed off his back. Harger got Massa-cred with a vicious go-to that even Tyler Wiley called PD at least twice in the match, which, btw, was 14-0 at the end of one and actually ended up 17-0 with riding time. Boyle started things off convincingly/nicely and may be crescendoing but the rest was pretty ho-hum. Most apparent indication: Big Ten has PSU, IU, Minny, tOSU, Illini.....and everybody else! silver-medal 670 Report post Posted January 28, 2013 Some surprising results.... 133: White over Bruno. Bruno is a stud recruit. White lost to Buckeye backup Kyle Visconti. 165: Massa by TF over Harger. Harger has been tough. Impressive effort by Massa.
