Coach_J 2,051 Report post Posted October 25, 2017 Iran U23 team 57kg: trial between Younes Sarmasti vs Reza Atri 61kg: Iman Sadeghi * 65kg: trial between Morteza Ghiasi vs Younes Emami 70kg: Jamal Ebadi 74kg: trial between Mohammad Motaghinia vs Hamidreza Zarinpeikar 86kg: Alireza Karimi 97kg: Mojtaba Goleij * 125kg: Amin Taheri they will decide about Sadeghi and Goleij after the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Turkmenistan beside that there are rumors in Iran that Iran Wrestling Federation will ban 3 wrestlers from the next year trials, Ehsanpour, Yarahmadi and Amir Mohammadi. Any specific reason for the rumored bans?
wrestfan 601 Report post Posted October 25, 2017 Any specific reason for the rumored bans? Because they were poor in Paris ! and they believe this is not a good idea to give them another chance nobody confirmed this though but they changed the trial rules, with new rules qualifying for the final trials is not enough, the technical committee has to approve all wrestlers. 1 Coach_J reacted to this

Thanks. I thought by the term "suspended" they may have violated some rules.

Shiraz123 611 Report post Posted October 26, 2017 Whats with all these crap wrestlers Iran has at 57? Even Sarmasti is losing to Hajaghania now who is nothing. I heard Rahimi is going to 61 so the 57 weight is completely over for Iran with wrestlers like Sarmasti, Atri and Hajaghania. 1 Coach_J reacted to this

irani 651 Report post Posted January 22, 2018 Will they get Visas with the updated travel ban now in place? That is a legitimate question. I, of course, do not have the answer, but I suspect if the US refuses to give them Visas, the world cup will be hosted somewhere else
wrestfan 601 Report post Posted January 28, 2018 Rasoul Khadem is now officially the head coach for Iran freestyle team. this is better than coaching the team over the phone lol here is Iran's roster for the Asian Champs. 57; Reza Atri or Nader Hajaghania 61; Iman Sadeghi 65; Younes Emami or Peiman Biabani 70; Ahmad Mohammadi 74; Mostafa Hosseinkhani or Hamdi Reza Zarinpeikar or Bahman Teymouri 79; Ezzatollah Akbari or Omid Hassantabar 86; Alireza Karimi or Kamran Ghasempour 92; Hassan Yazdani or Javad Ebrahimi 97; Mojtaba Goleij or Hossein Shahbazi 125; Amin Taheri or Yadollah Mohebbi 1 2td3nf reacted to this
Shiraz123 611 Report post Posted January 28, 2018 It's not right what they did with Talei. Khadem would not have done much different with that poor Paris team either. Was Khadem not at the mat when Nasiri got beat in Rio? Some wrestlers are bad regardless of the coach.

wrestfan 601 Report post Posted January 28, 2018 Wow, Yazdani going up again, now to 92kg? with this rate, we will see him in super heavyweight in Tokyo 2020 LOL just kidding most probably only for this tournament, even though I'm not sure if they send him to the Asian Champs after all. but it's hard to make weight for multiple tournaments in a year with this new weight-in rule. there will be World Cup, Asian Games and World Champonships this year. they don't like these new weight-in rules in Iran at all. 1 2td3nf reacted to this

Was Khadem not at the mat when Nasiri got beat in Rio? Some wrestlers are bad regardless of the coach. agreed but you can't deny his charisma . wrestlers really listen to him. they lost so many close matches in Paris. Atri, Nasiri, Hosseinkhani, Mohebbi, Ehsanpour, they all lost narrowly to eventual bronze medalists. maybe they could win some of them with Khadem near the mat. this is his team after all, it's better if he coaches the team himself. of course if you look at the Asian team roster, you really can't see a "great team" there. beside Yazdani, I see only Ahmad Mohammadi as a possible medal contender at the worlds. but who knows, they are still waiting for Komeil and Rahimi to be ready, even though Rahimi made it clear that he is not going to cut weigh for 57kg. simply impossible for him with new rules. they have to stick with Atri ! and they really expelled Amir Mohammadi, Ehsanpour and Nasiri from the national team ! they have to work hard winning the trials to maybe have a chance. just maybe. Billyhoyle 1,987 Report post Posted January 29, 2018 (edited) Why not stay at 86 and get those easy gold medalsNo way. The guy is on a mission. Gold ahead of Burroughs in 2016. He moved up to face Sadulaev in 2017-didn't get the opportunity. So he moved up again in 2018 to face Sadulaev. After he wins that he will go to 97 to face Snyder in 2019. Then he works his way up to HWT and beats Pietrishvili in 2020. Or maybe he's running from David Taylor. Edited January 29, 2018 by Billyhoyle

PRyan2012 343 Report post Posted January 29, 2018 Yazdani will lose to Taylor or Sad whatever weight he choses. Mark that down:-) Really Taylor's style is perfect to beat him again.
Shiraz123 611 Report post Posted January 29, 2018 Sorry but Taylor got destroyed by Lashgari and barely beat this impoverished Cuban 4-4. Even Yasar only 4-1 when Yazdani teched Yasar a few months back. Not to mention a disabled Cox on 1 leg beat him. This is why he should stay at 86 and relax there winning easy golds. I do hear you but Taylor's style perfect for Yazdani. We will see I guess hopefully very soon. Taylor struggles with defensive bulls-very strong guys. Yazdani is not that guy and I think Taylor is simply a bad matchup for him. Edited January 29, 2018 by PRyan2012
