Holy **** that 74kg SF between USA (O'Toole) and RUS (Khatanov) was unreal. Those guys look elite and very ready for seniors.

In the other SF, the KGZ that beat Yari lost to KAZ so Yari is out.

Firouzpour beat the Georgian 14-4 and is also in the finals (he will wrestle a Russian wrestling for France).

That match went exactly how @Shiraz123 predicted

Wasn't Firouzpour an actual wrestler before in the cadets, not just an underhooker?

Just stopping in to say I'm very impressed with the Junior squad that Iran sent.  I am very much looking forward to the next ten years or so.

Sadly, there has been not track record for transition the success from cadet and junior levels into the senior levels in Iran

He was always based off the underhook but he got to legs from there in cadet worlds

And this HW match is crazy lol.

Akbarpour beats the American 8-5 (honestly I thought he didn't really deserve to win, he was taken down very easily many times), and is our 4th finalist of today!

4/4 from the semis. 6 finalists overall. Very good performance. That has to be the team title wrapped up already.

Alipour in the final, lol. His antics on the mat are amusing. American kid was probably a bit better. I assume Armenia will beat him but we will see.

I cannot believe the American almost made the finals. He is good domestically I guess, but he is probably the worst guy on the team. Good for him for almost pulling that off

Amazing performance by Iran. A couple of them look ready for seniors.

Heavyweight at junior worlds typically sucks. Every couple years you might get 1 decent guy who will make it in seniors. There have been some very poor winners over the years.

Yeah absolutely. The US has Gable and then Parris though, both of whom turned out to be excellent. Parris has wins over our former rep 2 time Bronze Gwiz, and Gable is the best is the world.

wyatt is good for a high schooler but wouldn’t be top 15 in college even (right now)

Oh yeah, Zare and Parris in the same weight from 2019 is probably about as good as junior heavyweight can get.

Ebadi lost his bronze medal match.

I wouldn't mind a trial match between Ebadi and Ghiasi, how can they send Ebadi after this performance?

I wouldn't mind sending Ebadi home and banning him from this sport forever. this guy is terrible

If it's beteen Ghiasi and Ebadi, they should just save some money and not send anyone

He is right there.  He made Round of 12 last year.
