When was last that Iowa lost 2 consecutive dual meets?

Recommended Posts

125 MD Iowa 4-0

133 MD Iowa 8-0

141 DEC Iowa 11-0 – This could just as easily go the other way.

149 MD PSU 11-4

157 MD PSU 11-8

165 MD PSU 11-12

174 DEC Iowa 14-12

184 DEC PSU 14-15

197 DEC PSU 14-18

HWT DEC PSU 14-21

So unless Iowa gets a couple extra bonus points out of 125 and 133, holds 141, keeps 149 and 157 to the bare minimum bonus, then flips either 197 or HWT the answer would be “Yes they will lose two dual meets in a row.”

There is no way thaty Gilman is majoring Suriano.  This will be a very competitive match and although Gilman is a slight favorite a Suriano win would not be a big surprise.  I would expect that both 149 & 157 will be regular decisions for PSU altough with Zane & Nolf who knows.  141 favors PSU.  I think Gulibon gets the reg decision.  Otherwise I agree with your picks.  It is hard to see anyway that Iowa wins this if PSU has everyone other than Cortez.

February 23rd, 2013...lost to both Minnesota (22-15) and Missouri (18-16, despite the Tigers forfeiting one weight) on the same day at Williams Arena (I was there).

Not counting then, January 20th and 22nd, 2012, when they lost duals at Ohio State (21-9) and Penn State (22-12), respectively. Again, I was at both.

Better question, because this is entirely possible with Ohio State on the agenda the following weekend, is the last time they lost three straight duals. You have to go back to three of Jim Zalesky's last five duals as head coach of the Hawks, when they lost to Penn State at home (21-12), at Michigan State (19-17), and Illinois at home (24-13) on February 3rd, 5th, and 10th. No, I was not at any of those duals.

Iowa vs Ohio State

125 TF Iowa 5-0

133 DEC OSU 5-3 – I believe this will be reversed in March when both men are healthy. I think it ends up a low scoring defensive match from the feet.

141 DEC OSU 5-6

149 DEC Iowa 8-6 – Could be reversed but I’ll go with the wrestler more experienced in winning close matches.

157 MD Iowa 12-6

165 DEC OSU 12-9

174 DEC OSU 12-12

184 DEC Iowa 15-12

197 DEC OSU 15-15

HWT MD OSU 15-19

If Clark can get a DEC at 133 then Iowa wins.

If Snyder is going to Yarigin, then he won't be at the Iowa dual.  Does anyone know the plans for that?
