Shiraz123 829 Report post Posted February 5, 2017 Now that it's confirmed that team USA will be allowed to travel to Iran, what matches are you looking forward to? Iran and America will send pretty much their best teams as usual, but this year it seems Turkey and Russia are sending good teams also. I believe I read Turkey is even sending Akgul at 125 and Yasar at 86. 2 Abdullahgadzhi Khuzin and irani reacted to this

Angry_Fish 313 Report post Posted February 5, 2017 I would like to see a finalized US Roster. I know a preliminary one was released a few weeks back, but I am expecting some tweaks to it given all that has happened since then (both on the mat and travel ban related). Billyhoyle 2,480 Report post Posted February 5, 2017 The press release said 13 US wrestlers, but there are only 9 listed there. Too bad Cox isn't going. Would love to see him against Yazdani.

JO was going at 70 but not sure if that is still the case after he hurt is shoulder in the finals of the Schultz. Also not sure if any of the guys who planned to go are having 2nd thoughts given the political situation that developed. Looking forward to see who actually goes. Iran and America will send pretty much their best teams as usual, but this year it seems Turkey and Russia are sending good teams also. I believe I read Turkey is even sending Akgul at 125 and Yasar at 86. So to answer your question, my main focus will be on the young Yazdani on his new weight. Very interested to see how he will perform in any and all his matches
Shiraz123 829 Report post Posted February 5, 2017 This will be his first real test at 86. Especially if Turkey actually sends Yasar and they wrestle. 1 irani reacted to this

And the Azeri guy is tough too, in the absence of Sadulaev, that is about as tough a test as you can have for Yazdani.

Shiraz123 829 Report post Posted February 5, 2017 I think you mean their Olympian Sharifov, he will almost certainly not be there. He only bothers to cut down to 86 once every four years. Azerbaijan has other good wrestlers at this weight, though. 1 newyorkwrestler reacted to this
