If true, do the three recruits who asked for releases now reconsider? Does anyone follow him from VT to ISU? Where he may struggle with in-state recruiting (thanks to Iowa), can he now make up those gaps with his east coast ties?

 

If this is true, I am psyched for the future of the Cyclones.

Interesting how they list a running of his dual meet scores on the sidebar and the article only talks about dual results.

 

It is almost as if people who don't live and breathe college wrestling can follow the simplicity of team versus team competitions and results.

Seems like a very strange jump for dresser. He turned VA tech into a top 4 program that is still doing well - why bail on it for a floundering isu program? Did they double his salary or something?

Oh, c'mon people! His home state; more $$$; a state where the populace are actually aware of the sport of wrestling and care about its results; storied tradition. Yada, yada, yada. Yes, he built VT into a formidable force in wrestling, but that was just a stepping stone, albeit a pretty good job as stepping stones go. Brands took off when the opportunity came. Don't you see the pattern?

the key words in the post were the situations aren't exactly the same. Brands left very early and Dresser has built a team that now contend for a trophy on the national scene. At this point in time the only thing appealing about the ISU job compared to VT is the possible recruits and the chance at more money as well as being back home.
