Hypothetical - Who wins: Seinor Ed Ruth vs Seinor Gabe Dean?

Recommended Posts

Whichever side you are on, it would be the last match of the NCAA Tournament and everyone would be on the edge of their seats the entire time.

I was too big of a fan of Ruth's(I thought he was absolutely their best wrestler during that 4 year run) to pick against him. But, Dean has looked absolutely fantastic in a super deep weight. If they both wrestled 10 times I could see it being 5-5!

Like Ohio State fans are bitter about what Zain did to Steiber's legacy? No one cares because it changed nothing. He took 3 career losses, 2 his freshman year, and one his senior year and won 3 titles plus a 3rd. Dean has a very good chance at mirroring his results but has a few more losses.

Slight correction... Stieber went 5-3 in his "first" FR season. Don't forget that he competed OFFICIALLY at the CKLV invite five times, placing 6-1-1-1-1. The correct total is SIX career losses:

1st FR: 3 (Patterson, Lara, Perrelli)

2nd FR: 2 (Dardanes, Oliver)

SO: 0

JR: 1 (Retherford)

SR: 0

What did Zain do to Stieber's legacy?

Stieber is a World Champion.

He's just getting started!

I'd take Dean 7/6 over Ruth.

Dean.  Dean beat him once as a frosh and lost by one TD in the semis at the NCAAs that year.  Dean is far, far better than he was at that point, and his Ruth's lack of national/international success is an indicator that he may have peaked.

Absolutely nothing. That's my point.

He did make a world team and had a win against Salas.
