Here is your chance to step up (My NCAA Picks)

Recommended Posts

This is especially set up for those of you that like to cherry pick the times I am wrong. You know who you are.  Step up and put your picks on here.

Here are the rules:  Any editing done after 11:50 am EST on March 16th will result in disqualification.

We pick the AA's at each weight. .  1 point if he AA's. 1 additional point if he finishes at or 1 spot different from predicted.

Just for frame of reference I added R12 results

I think you just unwittingly gave the Championship to Penn State. If Suriano AA's they win it, and if he doesn't then the famous MSU158 jinx kicks in and hands it to them.

Top 15 Team Scores (I just filled out the brackets, and this is what the team scores came to)
1. Penn State - 117 Points
2. Oklahoma State - 109.5 Points
3. Ohio State - 108 points

4. Iowa - 107 points
5. Virginia Tech - 78 points
6. Mizzou - 64 points
7. Cornell - 56.5 points
8. Minnesota - 45.5 points
9. Lehigh - 41 points
10. Illinois - 40.5 points
11. Michigan - 39 points
12. Nebraska - 35.5 points
13. Wisconsin - 35 points

14. Arizona State - 34 points
15. NC State - 26 points
16. UNI - 22 points points

Just some food for thought/debate!

-Maybe I am giving Peters too much credit at 125, but when guys have a history of turning it on at NCAAs, I thought I'd give him and Youtsey the benefit.

-174 Maybe I'm lowballing on Mark Hall, but I think Epperly presents the same challenges Preisch does. I had him losing to Epperly, Realbuto on the backside, and Preisch in the rematch for 5th.

-My original post and predictions had Zahid, but I think I believe in BoJo. I like the Jordans, great people.

-My 157 was done before the bracket redraw, however I don't think it affects any of my top 7 picks... it may affect Heffernans path to 7/8. So i'll have to go back and redo that bracket to see how my 8th and R12 work out.. will edit later with those.

No jinx necessary. If Suriano is healthy enough to AA they win it. If I knew he was, I would pick PSU to win.

Without Suriano, OkState and PSU are really close tourney teams. I wouldn't bet on one over the other.

pish6969,

I went pretty far from chalk.  I did pick 8 #1 seeds to win, but they are all undefeated and have looked almost unbeatable.

As far as OkState bias vs. PSU goes:  Okstate seeds vs. my picks 8-7,3-2,1-1,2-2, 5-5,9-8,7-6,4-5,6-5 and 6-DNP. I have everyone within 1 spot of seed other than 285 not placing.

PSU seeds vs. my picks:3-DNP(ONLY because of injury, if healthy he is in the Finals),DNQ,US-(2-2),1-1,1-1,3-5,5-5,2-3,5-6 and 5-4.  If that is anti-PSU, you guys need to change the tint on your glasses.

Here are the seeds of my picks:

125: 3 AA's from outside the top 10

1.)1

2.)2

3.)5

4.)4

5.)11

6.)12

7.)8

8.)14

133: All top 8 are AA's, but the talent really drops off after top 8, however only 1 seed places at seed.

1.)4

2.)3

3.)1

4.)2

5.)5

6.)7

7.)8

8.)6

141: Meredith makes a big jump and Jack falls a bit

1.)1

2.)10

3.)3

4.)4

5.)5

6.)6

7.)2

8.)8

149: Closest to chalk, but I don't see anyone outside the top 10 close to this group

1.)1

2.)2

3.)4

4.)3

5.)4

6.)7

7.)9

8.)8

157: Palacio jumps and Parsons makes the stand from 11

1.)1

2.)7

3.)2

4.)4

5.)5

6.)3

7.)9

8.)11

165:Another weight with some juxtaposition but clear separation from 10 seed and up

1.)1

2.)2

3.)4

4.)5

5.)3

6.)6

7.)7

8.)9

174: Neither the 1 or 2 seed makes the finals

1.)3

2.)4

3.)2

4.)1

5.)5

6.)7

7.)8

8.)6

184: Don't see how anyone outside the top 9 cracks this talent pool

1.)1

2.)3

3.)2

4.)6

5.)4

6.)5

7.)9

8.)7

197: This weight is so thin the top 4 are miles ahead

1.)1

2.)2

3.)3

4.)4

5.)6

6.)5

7.)11

8.)7

285: My OkState bias shines through by NOT picking Schafer to place!

1.)1

2.)2

3.)4

4.)5

5.)3

6.)7

7.)8

8.)9

MSU. See my post. I edited that chalk part out a long time ago. I feel sick right now about Suriano I'll have to edit that either later or tomorrow or I may just leave it as is as that was my original prediction when I was thinking Suriano at 70-80%

Feel free to change it.  That is why I gave up until 15 minutes before wrestling starts to edit!  Losing Suriano definitely sucks. I am a fan of wrestling 1st.  I was really looking forward to the Dance-Suriano match!

Honestly. I really don't care if I win or not. I'm on cloud nine right now with the 5 PSU finalists and I did call all 5. Just hoping Cenzo can pull off the miracle and Bo does Bo things!
