The opening and midgame strategy for giveaway checkers, for those who understand the game is exactly the same as regular checkers. OK I'll explain, you want to gain a material advantage. Simple example. If you get to a situation at the end of the midgame, where you have two kings on your opponents bank rank, while he has one king only, on your back rank, you can force a situation where he must double jump you, or where you can force him to take one jump, then jump the other king. (I suppose this might not be true if you have like a 9 kings to 1 advantage. and of course there is the classic position where your 2 kings are on the same diagonal with 3 spaces between and he can move to the central space.

Was listening to a sports radio show on the way home from work last night. They were discussing the current 100+ game winning streak by the UConn women's basketball team.

The host asked an analyst what do other teams need to do to match UConn's success. He was thinking of things like recruiting, investment in the program, etc.

The analyst stated rather succinctly, "Get better and play better."
