I have set aside funds to have six Green Bay Packers be my pall bearers, that way they can let me down one final time.

Watch Howe beat Dake 2-2 in one of his snoozers.   He's already one of my least favorite wrestlers.  That would put him in Ramos territory for me.

Dake. But like Varner and Snyder both JB and Dake will win worlds. Next year it will be interesting who bumps up to 175.

The opinions and views expressed in my posts, are intended to promote Russian international styles wrestling and international wrestling in general. Please excuse misspellings, misunderstandings, or misinterpretations. I am doing my very best to communicate in English, but it is a work in progress. I speak several languages, but I am still learning context, culture, and local tradition. I love USA and I am doing my best to be a great ambassador. Thank you for understanding.

I actually think this is Dake's year. He has looked fantastic since dropping back down.

Non-Olympic year could give Dake more of an edge, but Burroughs has to feel like getting some world redemption after last years lackluster results. Not sure how to lean with this one.

I'm sticking with JB. I think the blood time that kept stopping his match against Geduev really ****ed up his rhythm. He came back and went undefeated at the World Cup. I think we saw motivated JB at the Cup and we're going to see a motivated and confident JB at the Open.

Burroughs hasn't looked the greatest to me since the Olympics but until he's beaten domestically I'm picking him every time

The finals of the US Open are just a single match, but the winner gets a bye to the WTT finals, which are best out of 3, right?

If so, that's a lot of pressure.....

correct

Actually, it is probably even more pressure at a balanced weight like 57 or 125 with no clear favorite.  I could see Dake losing a close US Open Finals to JB, but getting back to the WTT final with a few techs and not being too impacted.  If someone like Garrett or NaTo pulls an upset or two and gets to the US Open final, their odds of ultimately making the World Team if they win or lose that one match are vastly different.

Let's go Dake!!! As much as I cheer for Burroughs, I cheer just a bit more for Dake.  Really hoping he can overcome this TALL obstacle.
