I noticed Miles Lee, from Philly, in the Fargo Semis. Does anyone know where he's going to college? He is Class of '17.

I was just thinking about him roughly 30 minutes ago. We tried recruiting him to the Midwest, but it didn't go far. I'd love to hear this, too.

He's a great kid. I'm not sure if he is going to college. I think he will continue to train at the Pennsylvania Regional Training Center though. I know he also trains MMA and has interest in pursuing that.

Lee beat Waddell 6-2 to make the finals. Tough match coming up against Warner who is on fire. Too bad if Lee doesn't go the college route. Has only been wrestling 3 years and is beating up on the Fargo field.

Only wrestling 3 years, that is impressive.

He has committed to Millersville. Will do well under new coach Kerry Regner.

Warner takes Lee 11-0.  Good tournament for Lee with tremendous upside potential.  Iowa has to be very pleased with Warner who recently returned from training in Russia.

Did he really start wrestling literally three years ago? No clubs, no dabbling in the sport as a youth, nothing? I find that hard to believe (sorry, not trying to doubt anyone to be a dik). If he really did, he may have progressed faster than anyone I've ever seen or heard of since Mark Schultz, who allegedly started wrestling as a sophomore in HS. Ridiculously impressive if true.

I may be getting the story mixed up but didn't Tervel Dlagnev start wrestling as like a junior in high school as well?

Shame they dropped their D1 program...

Every few years Millersville would put out one or two strong wrestlers.

He did, but unless I'm brainfarting heavily, he was not doing what this Lee kid is doing in his third year. He didn't even make the state finals in Texas (no offense to Texas intended at all).

True. I was merely listing him as someone that picked up the sport late in high school and blossomed at the next level and beyond.

Not only did Lee make the finals this year, he placed 6th at Fargo Juniors last year.  Finished 5th in the PIAA state tournament this year.  Here is an article that says he has only been wrestling 3 years.

This was after he placed at Fargo last year.
And yea Warner is going to be a beast. I'm really looking forward to watching him and Kollin Moore duke it out for 2 years.

I was thinking Sophomore year, but I know Tervel and Mo Lawal didn't start wrestling until high school and did very well for themselves.  Ceron Francisco won 1 match at the NC state tournament and went on to be 4 time National Qualifier (NAIA) and 2 x All American...watch out for him in a few years as he will be training with the Paulson's at Virginia come December.

Lee Kemp was another that did not start wrestling until the 9th grade.
