This technique has been around for a long time. Who is credited for developing the drop step?

He didn't invent it, but he probably tells people he did.

We do know Wade did invent 100000 more things than you ever have.  But your just displayed a great way to show your insecurity.

But, have you ever seen ironchef in the kitchen? I'm guessing no.

Who invented getting in a stance? Also, shouldn't this be in the international forum, or did American Folkstyle invent the drop step?

... a russian, Vladdy Drostepoff was the inventor of the "dropstepoff" as he called it--- he was attempting to step on a big roach in his dingy Yekaterinburg apartment-- went heel, toe (squish), knee- got the roach, and came right back up into his stance (which he is also credited for inventing)... the technique is known as "the Vladdy" in some russian wrestling circles..........

I recall my grandad would talk about this vary topic. And one day I asked my grandad....who was/were the first & the quickist to do these sort of moves ?

He said "when I hear about the mention of the invention of the drop step, the first name that comes to mind is Johnny Unitas".  Known only as Johnny U in some circles.

"Johnny, more than any other, took the drop step(s) quicker than any other. And he was the first to take drop step (s) to a new level of understanding, as well as an all new

level of efficiency". Now, I do not recall this sort of info. I am too young. My grandady is gone now.

Perhaps-however- some of my fellow-yet older-poster gentlemen can help us out on this one ? Shine a little light on it, if you will.

I can Imagine** a little of this.

** oops apologies to John

I like the topic 'gowrestle'

After the drop step, do you go baseline and go for a reverse layup, or spin back to the middle and take a mid range jumper?
