Check it out:

There are some really cool possibilities here.

57kg: Would Spencer Lee and Daton Fix try out? Could we see them battle?

74kg: Would Mark Hall go one more time so that we could see Hall vs Martinez in freestyle?

86kg: Cox vs Zahid ?

Spencer is still rehabbing from his torn ACL. If Fix is going to redshirt I don't see why he wouldn't complete. After all, according to LemonPie he is better than the world silver medalist at the senior level already.

Ah, is Lee still rehabbing? When will he be healthy enough to compete? Midlands?

I'd like to see (freestyle):

57kg:  Fix... all day long.

61kg:  Gross, Storr, and Micic go at it. (thinking it's either Gross or Micic)

65kg:  Heil,Deakin, McKenna and Yianni go at it..  Thinking it's between Heil and McKenna?

70kg:  NOLF VS. PICO.  YES YES YES!  PLEASE!  If this matchup doesn't happen, then it's Nolf all day long.

74kg:  Hall vs. IMART.  Mark "Freaking" Hall!  Yes please!

86kg:  Nickal, MyMar, Zahid in an absolute brawl (unless it's Zahid vs. MyMar, then Zahid tech's him)

97kg:  Moore vs. Pfarr.  Given Moore's trajectory, I think we've seen the last time that Pfarr ever beats Moore.

125kg:  Coon, all day long.

No idea. Just know that as of a couple weeks ago was still rehabbing. Didn't have surgery until after the season so his progress is delayed even though the injury happened in January.

Careful?  I'm not the one wrestling!  Ha!

Seriously though... in a span of a month or two, results can swing back n' forth.  Compound growth over the course of a year, trajectories begin to mean something.  Also, Pfarr isn't sparring with the world's P4P best...

Well Pico is going to fight again sometime later this month I believe, so he's obviously unavailable. Also I'm not sure of the procedure to allow a MMA fighter to return to amateur status of USA wrestling. Perhaps someone out there who knows, can enlighten us.
I know in some sports there is a year or two waiting period.
I don't know what Gilman and Zain are doing, or have planned, but if they've been training and are ready, I would like to see them go. I think this tournament will be a good test, but something that I think they go do well in. I think the additional international competition would be good. I would think that Zain would be itching to get out there and get a better result after Paris, (I'm not saying he did bad there, he was just a second or two from winning a match against a very accomplished wrestler, but I'm sure he would've wanted a better result).

I am cynical about some injury situations, but the kid should be looking super long term, certainly at risk for peaking to early, he needs to take a lot of time now, "crave the mat" sort of thing.
