Since 2013 Russians didn't compete at dave schultz memorial. Now we have a four  "vodka" wrestlers:

70: Rasuz Dzhukaev (Silver World 2009)

74: Nikita Suchkov (Russian nat's runner up)

86: Arsen-Ali Musalaliev (Junior World champ, Russian nat's 3rd)

125: Adlan Ibragimov (def. Gwiz in Yarygin, Russian Nat's 3rd)

Also Ilyas Bekbulatov could compete too. But he is not satisfied prize salary

The opinions and views expressed in my posts, are intended to promote Russian international styles wrestling and international wrestling in general. Please excuse misspellings, misunderstandings, or misinterpretations. I am doing my very best to communicate in English, but it is a work in progress. I speak several languages, but I am still learning context, culture, and local tradition. I love USA and I am doing my best to be a great ambassador. Thank you for understanding.

Very cool!

Seems like the quality of competition this year is higher than it has been in awhile!

Musalaliev vs Downey will be a good one. Hopefully we get to see it.

There will be Gwan Kim! Very tough wrestler! If he ready 100% we will have a problem :c

That's cool, I know the feeling. This time last year we had the Farrell at the NYAC. Same thing, got to meet so many world class wrestlers and coaches. Some of the toughest people on the planet yet some of the nicest people in the world.

Looks like Gadisov will be competing at 97kg as well!!  Too bad there's no one to give him any competition.

One of the Russians just beat PD3. He said on Twitter that the guy wore him out.

I have set aside funds to have six Green Bay Packers be my pall bearers, that way they can let me down one final time.

Musalaliev, who just beat Downey, won JR Worlds in 2016 when Zahid took 7th but they didn't wrestle then. might have met some place else tho. maybe BtS.

edit: they met in the 2015 JR Worlds. Musalaliev beat Valencia 7-4.

As a wrestling fan, I wish we had one high level international event each year (preferably in Chicagoland) that brought in real studs from all over the globe. No disrespect towards the Schultz or the Farrell.

I don't know the logistics (prize money, guarantees, accommodations, etc.) but I think having some weights with 5-man round-robins is not honoring Dave's memory.  Whatever the solution, a tournament with his name on it must be better.
