You have to give MSU credit though. He is staying consistent. Its pretty much the same narrative he had with the psu freshmen.
You mean every PSU freshman at NCAA's or just singling out the 1st 2 this past season that won it as a freshman under Sanderson?
Since regularly following and posting on this board(about 12 years or so) I don't care who you wrestle for, I very rarely have or would pick a freshman to win NCAA's. Before that I probably wouldn't have picked ANY other than Sanderson. It is such a unique experience that I still strongly believe you have a considerably better chance to win it after you have experienced it and know what to expect and how to adjust for it the next time.
Going back to Sanderson, Schlatter was the only other freshman I expected to win. They were both so clearly ahead of the field that year that I didn't see a hiccup coming. Dake had Humphrey and I thought Green would get IMar. I will take the proven AA if he has shown he is close with (insert star freshman name).
Finally for having Hall and Joseph win it, you still had monsters like Ruth, Taylor, Retherford, Nolf and Nickal not and that doesn't even count the likes of Alton(s), Megaludis, McIntosh, Nevills and Suriano(inj.). I know freshman are proving to be more college ready than ever before, but I still can't pick one unless they are very visibly clear ahead of their competition(even then it is hard).
