In '84 the only US Olympic champs who also won worlds were Mark and Dave Shultz. Who else won in '84? Banach  x2, Ray Lewis?

Bruce B also won in 84 and also won worlds later. the other 84 winner was Bobby Weaver who never won worlds (2nd was best). as you noted the Banachs and Randy Lewis never won world titles, Lewis came closest I think with a 4th in '82 (I think that year is right, the year they were in Edmonton)

Maybe a better and easier to compile list is of those who won both.

Rulon would be there as he won in 2000 and 2001.

add Kenny Monday. and as much as we all might want it to be, can't give Lee Kemp the gold from boycott year. NA here, sadly.

Interestingly is that Barry Davis was one of only two US 1984ers who didn't win gold but then took a bronze (1986) and silver (1987) in the world championships.

actually 3 didn't win gold: 2 silvers (Davis and Rein), 1 did not medal (Gonzales).

yeah weird how that played out, Barry had a very solid international career but had the bad luck to have Tomiyama in 84. Tomiyama was a two time world champ and had taken 2nd in world the previous two years.

Lloyd Keaser was a back up to Dan Gable in the 72 Oly's.  He then won the World Championship in 1973.  He was Silver in Montreal in 76.  I really liked him.  I was fascinated that an American won the weight title yet again.
