Cornell

Per usual, they are over performing.

Yianni beats a ranked Alber at 141 dominantly 5-2 without being in danger.

Max Dean, Gabe’s little brother, beats 4th ranked Drew Foster at 184

They also have Darmstadt at 197 who will climb into the rankings

Honis at heavyweight is intriguing

The only returning AA, Womack, moves to174 from 165 this year and lost in a close match to Taylor Lujan.

They could realistically have 4 or even 5 AAs. It is early and they have plenty of work to do, but yet again Cornell somehow manages to be a top level team.

little more surprised/impressed with Dean's win than Yianni's. and take that as a compliment to both.

Is stroker not eligible or not competing for a spot?

Not sure what his status is but he lost to his teammate Galasso at the Bearcat Open. I was surprised by that, since Galasso is a bumped up 149 and not exactly a world beater (no offense, most had Stroker penciled in as the starter at 157).

Stroker is wrestling for FLWC this semester.

Wasn't Honis going to challenge Darmstadt for the 197 spot?  Has he moved up to heavy for good?

It looks like Darmstadt has the advantage over honis at 197 at the moment. Kolls newsletter states starting hwt Sweaney is out until after Vegas. So it looks like Honis will have an opportunity to get a great look at heavy in Vegas.

Went to the dual and was impressed by Cornell.

I honestly thought UNI would win by 10 points but Cornell's guys are young and just DGAF.

Tucker at 133 looks tough.

Yianni, well everyone knows that he is going to be in the mix.

JJ Chavez hit 567 moves in his match.

Womack v Lujan was a great match: both funky but Lujan beat him to the punch.  Womack spent too much time in the 2nd trying to peterson and it cost him riding time.  He was seriously close to getting it but Lujan did just enough.

Dean was actually comfortably ahead until the latter half of the 3rd, gave up 1 and a quick two that he really could've avoided.  Not sure Foster was 100% either, actually I know he wasn't.  Either way Dean looked very tough to score on and super strong.

Darmstat is extremely fun to watch.  Another guy capable of throwing the kitchen sink at you.  He hit the assassin 3 different ways.
