BigTimeFan 1,141 Report post Posted November 19, 2017 Hey Big I agree. Over these past years we have seen 'the train' being almost taken down. Almost is the operative here. It would seem that his opponents are just about geared to, and expect that almighty hammer to come down hard and heavy, when close to an almost TD. Sounds about right. I see big things for Deakin in the future.
TBar1977 4,532 Report post Posted November 19, 2017 Deakin is better at 149 now than Micah was last year. I feel pretty comfortable saying that.
BigTimeFan 1,141 Report post Posted November 19, 2017 McCutcheon - Caesar is a real snoozer. Except for the five seconds just now.

lu_alum 920 Report post Posted November 19, 2017 (edited) Can McCutcheon be a bigger crybaby? Why not forget about headgear and take a shot? Cassar clearly deserves the spot. Edited November 19, 2017 by lu_alum
TBar1977 4,532 Report post Posted November 19, 2017 McCutcheon - Caesar is a real snoozer. Except for the five seconds just now. I will say this. The match where Cassar could not get off bottom seems like an outlier at this point. Something must have been off.

pennsyrules 222 Report post Posted November 19, 2017 I still want to see Cassar get it done against top competition. You know what you have with McCutcheon (R12 with potential to knock off someone and AA. Beating your teammate who you wrestle with every day does not always prove to be the best wrestler. I love Cassar's takedown work but again, need him to show he's consistent. Also, its not uncommon for the Penn State guys to give up an early takedown because its like they aren't even worried about it. They know they are going to score a ton of points so its almost irrelevant.

pennsyrules 222 Report post Posted November 19, 2017 ... not McCutcheon. I meant Zain, Nolf, and Nickel. Haha, no Cutch is definition of keep it close and hope for a last second win.. But he has had a nice career for a guy that probably should be 184.
LoStNuMbEr 320 Report post Posted November 19, 2017 I think its clearly Cassar at this point. He won the wrestleoff supposedly, and just won head to head in a tournament. He has excellent skills from neutral and a couple of red flags Mccutcheon on the other hand, is mediocre at everything
pennsyrules 222 Report post Posted November 19, 2017 Methodical breaking down of Sebastian by Mark Hall. Man, wasn't Sebastian #1 guy coming out of HS?

BigTimeFan 1,141 Report post Posted November 19, 2017 It seems so ... But Hall is another level. http://www.nusports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=5041
BigTimeFan 1,141 Report post Posted November 19, 2017 Regarding Hall. He’s looking solid. Last year Hall lost early to Christian Bruckie and Meyer. This year he lost early to Zahid. He’s now wrecking folk. Can’t wait to see him VS top five guys.

He doesn't apply pressure the way the other PSU guys do on top.
TBar1977 4,532 Report post Posted November 19, 2017 DeSanto got up 26-12 on Gonser after 2 periods, now getting rode a while in period 3. Gonser rides out period 3 but still loses 26-12. So hold the brakes with DeSanto bottom game, but overall Wow. 1 KTG119 reacted to this
Perry 1,428 Report post Posted November 19, 2017 Not uncommon for a true freshman to struggle on bottom. Sounds like he is solid everywhere else at least. What happened with Curch/Cassar? Obv Cassar won but it sounds like McC had some issues in the match? I assume all the other Penn State guys are mostly going unchallenged. Minus their 133, of course, unless he recovered and was fine to wrestle on the backside?
lu_alum 920 Report post Posted November 19, 2017 PSU's 125 went 1-2. 133 won two bouts and took INJ DEF rather than wrestle DeSanto.
TBar1977 4,532 Report post Posted November 19, 2017 Good match from Cortez. Dippery is a mat guy, but not great from neutral so cut him and stay away for the win.
TBar1977 4,532 Report post Posted November 19, 2017 Deakin at least made Zain work for that. Zain usually can just cut the corner easily.
