The Horror

Recommended Posts

I’ve seen horrors, horrors that you’ve seen.  But you have no right to call him a staller.  You have a right to hate him.  You have a right to do that, but you have no right to judge him.  It’s impossible for words to describe what is necessary to those who do not know what antiheroism means.  Antiheroism has a mustached face, and you must make a friend of antiheroism.  Antiheroism and moral terror are your friends.  If they are not then they are enemies to be feared. They are truly enemies.  I remember that match.  Seems a thousand centuries ago.  He went in shot after shot.  His opponent tried to turn that last corner in overtime.  In the end he tried to raise his own arm.  And I remember…I… I…I cried.  And I want to remember it.  I never want to forget it.  And then I realized…every one of those boos…like a diamond…a diamond bullet right through his soul.  And I thought: the genius of that. The genius of trying to raise his own arm in victory.  The will to do that.  Perfect, genuine, complete, crystalline, pure.  And then I realized he was stronger than he appeared. Because he could stand those boos from those monsters.  He stood there like a man and took it all. These men who booed him with their hearts, who were filled with hate.  But he had the strength…the strength…to take that unjust decision.  If we had ten decisions like that the Olympics would be over very quickly.  You have to have men who are moral…and at the same time who are able to utilize their primordial instincts to wrestle without feeling…without passion…without judgment.  Because it was that judgment, not his opponent, that defeated him.

There it is... that's the good stuff. Now would be a good time for MM to photoshop Jad's face onto the Dark Knight...

Haha, lotta good chucks just remembering the old days.  True, many tangents went too long and far, but there was a lot of truly classic humor back then.  I'm Peso, only because I had been gone so long I couldn't remember my password, haha.  I'm Smittyfan (Said in my best Batman voice)
