TFBJR 464 Report post Posted January 28, 2018 That sucks. He is the best and toughest there is. Kills the joy of the whole meet. Let's hope he can recover within a month.

TFBJR 464 Report post Posted January 28, 2018 (edited) It looked to me like he was trying to turn the foot. You're wrong. Quit being a douche. Edited January 28, 2018 by TFBJR 2 krippler and BLT reacted to this

cjc007 774 Report post Posted January 28, 2018 I like what Rutgers is doing as a program and their coaches, but their wrestlers actions and attitudes make them very hard to root for.Jersey punks! klehner 734 Report post Posted January 28, 2018 Whatever. He did it on purpose, Rutgers seems to have gotten orders for this dual and they're carrying them out. Nolf has been in that position tons of times but Van Brill knew he was outclassed so he wrenched his knee. PSU may be dominant but they aren't dirty. No, he didn't. The precipitating event was actually Nolf himself exacerbating the angle of the knee as he leaned into van Brill. 1 BLT reacted to this
BLT 86 Report post Posted January 28, 2018 Put yourself in his spot, he didn't have to turn it like that. Imagine if PSU guys did that every time they had a chance? He did not turn anything, watch the replay. Nolf put the extra pressure on himself.

klehner 734 Report post Posted January 28, 2018 Van Brill was in the same position the whole time, if anything Nolf put more pressure on it by leaning forward. exactly.

buckshot1969 579 Report post Posted January 28, 2018 exactly. Yeah because it's normal to just keep pushing your knee until it pops.
JAD 40 Report post Posted January 28, 2018 (edited) DeLuca was dirty. He came close to being disqualified - Retherford showed a lot of class by keeping his cool. However, Nolf was just an unfortunate accident. Edited January 28, 2018 by JAD

Stl 83 Report post Posted January 28, 2018 It'd be a shame if Nolf is out for the rest of the season, but injuries are a reality for every team. I think even with Nolf out, Penn State still has a good shot at the National Title.
klehner 734 Report post Posted January 28, 2018 Point for getting his hand tangled in headgear that was hanging off of his head. This ref is horrible. I guess the reviewers are horrible, too. You're shooting blanks here today, aren't you?
buckshot1969 579 Report post Posted January 28, 2018 Oh man that is not cool. It is wrestling and it was an injury, unfortunate yes, dirty? No. In wrestling you have to have trust and respect between opponents. There are times in every match where you could injure your opponent but you don't do it. I've seen Nolf in that spot countless times and he's always been fine. There is no way anybody would voluntarily tear their knee up, you'd need some help.
