Regarding the accusations of seed protection.

Predictable responses, commence!

The fans made him change a policy.  Under his skin so much that he tweeted about it.  This is a win for us, not Tom.

You're the same guy that tweets at LeBron and calls him a choker, and then takes credit when he comes up clutch in the finals because you "got under his skin so much that he had to change."

Dude my Twitter is pathetic and boring. You have me wrong. I don't bother athletes. Plus, I love LeBron. Better than Jordan.

No, I just took it there because your overall point was terrible.

Ryan's hand was forced, and it's a win for wresting fans who get to watch great matches.

They're cowards so I'll do it for them: the following are very sorry for consistently starting untrue rumors and generally having very little actual knowledge about the things coming out of their mouths.

Pletcher will sit against Micic.

Pletcher will sit against Micic.

ugh, true dat.

Pletcher will sit against Micic.

Those are in fact great match-ups, but you can be pretty certain Ryan is already scheming and planning his "excuses" and rationalizations for wrestlers whom he is going to hold out in the (hidden) name of seed protection.

iGrandby
Yes, Pletcher will likely sit against Micic. We all know why - sorry Tom. (Im a buckeye fan, but I also accept reality) If he does wrestle, Its a coin flip. Winner is my pick to get wrecked by Gross in the NCAA finals. Although, the result could obviously flip at Big Tens and/or nationals.

My reply to iGrandby: You are clearly an idiot. Tell you what, if Pletcher sits vs. Micic I will come on here, bash Ryan for seed protecting, apologize to you, claim you a genius, and I will never post on this board again. But, when Pletcher does wrestle you should come on here and apologize, and admit you are an idiot, and in the future point out to others that Tom Ryan and seed protection is a myth.

Work on your formatting, guy. My post was before Tom's tweet. Knew he was wrestling after that. His hand was forced by Twitter trolls and I'm happy for it.

Does his apology apply for NC State as well? Asking for a friend.

Double or nothing?!

Any truth that on some obscure 'Ohio' boards they are talking about Ryan sitting:

Snyder
NaTo
Bo

So sure double or nothing?

I see you’ve been reading the net. I haven’t heard anything.

Ultimately I think Sunday proved forever to infinity that Tom doesn’t protect seeds so no need to corrupt the forum.

Sunday didn't prove anything, and I'm not bashing Ryan.  I don't know why people get so touchy on this subject.  In this particular case:

1) The only reward for sitting Pletcher against Michigan is a #1 seed at Big 10's. So you wrestle DelVecchio in the semis instead of McKee... who cares. The Big 10 is weak at 133. You should see Micic anyway.

2) Sitting Pletcher against Michigan makes it a much closer dual, with a fairly slim margin for error (just 2 upsets required among 3 bouts between two highly ranked guys @ 174, 184, 285).  Despite what Ryan has said about duals not having meaning, losing to Michigan when you have "the best team in program history" is an entirely different prospect.  As it turns out, sitting Pletcher would have lost the dual.

Looking forward to seeing a full line up against NC State. I really look forward to seeing Myles Martin take on PA wrestler Pete Renda.
