Those are in fact great match-ups, but you can be pretty certain Ryan is already scheming and planning his "excuses" and rationalizations for wrestlers whom he is going to hold out in the (hidden) name of seed protection.

Yes, Pletcher will likely sit against Micic. We all know why - sorry Tom. (Im a buckeye fan, but I also accept reality) If he does wrestle, Its a coin flip. Winner is my pick to get wrecked by Gross in the NCAA finals. Although, the result could obviously flip at Big Tens and/or nationals.

 

My reply to iGrandby: You are clearly an idiot. Tell you what, if Pletcher sits vs. Micic I will come on here, bash Ryan for seed protecting, apologize to you, claim you a genius, and I will never post on this board again. Sunday didn't prove anything, and I'm not bashing Ryan.  I don't know why people get so touchy on this subject.  In this particular case:

 

1) The only reward for sitting Pletcher against Michigan is a #1 seed at Big 10's. So you wrestle DelVecchio in the semis instead of McKee... who cares. The Big 10 is weak at 133. You should see Micic anyway.

 

2) Sitting Pletcher against Michigan makes it a much closer dual, with a fairly slim margin for error (just 2 upsets required among 3 bouts between two highly ranked guys @ 174, 184, 285).  Despite what Ryan has said about duals not having meaning, losing to Michigan when you have "the best team in program history" is an entirely different prospect.  As it turns out, sitting Pletcher would have lost the dual.
