Per Flo's box scores

Old Dominion 13, Ohio 6
125: Michale Mcgee (ODU) maj. dec. over Trevor Giallombardo (OHIO), 16-4
133: Caleb Richardson (ODU) dec. over Cameron Kelly (OHIO), 5-2
141: Alex Madrigal (ODU) dec. over  Mario Guillen (OHIO), 6-2
149: Kade Kowalski (OHIO) dec. over Kenan Carter, 5-1
157: Larry Early (ODU) dec. over  Cullen Cummings  (OHIO), 4-1
165: Joe Terry (OHIO) dec. over Luke Drugac (ODU), 7-6
*The dual was canceled after an injury during the 174 lbs match.

Someone want to explain to me how the hell this happens?

No details anywhere. Sounds on the order of heart attack serious. I really want to be wrong.

I am just guessing but would they cancel a meet like that if the referee got hurt and could not continue?

YOU WERE SERIOUS ABOUT THAT?

Due to an Ohio injury in the 174-pound bout, the match has been call off through 165 pounds. Our thoughts are with the Ohio team and their injured wrestler.

My best guess is that it was Austin Reese at 174.

Here is the only story I could find so far.  Hope Reese is okay.  Not sure if was a pre-existing medical condition or something that happened on the mat:

Briefly mentioned it on the semi-nightly Short Time Shots

Leading off the show with it, it isn't much, but it's one of those things where I'm pumping the brakes to give the kid, program and family some semblance of privacy.

According to the one Twitter post I saw  from Jason Arkley,of the Athens Messenger, the wrestler collapsed during his match.

Eyewitnesses said no breathing or heartbeat.

They did CPR on the mat.

They also had to use a defibrillator.

They said he was conscious and responsive when they took him to the hospital.

He is in the hospital and tests are being run to determine what happened.  He's alive - which given what happened, could have not been the case.

He is LemonPie.  By definition, his question fits exactly into his "thematforums.com persona".......

Did you miss my first post?

It's an honest question regarding an unusual circumstance.

Can you imagine the scene, athletic trainers saving a life right there on the mat with a crowd watching?  Hats off to the medical staff for performing under pressure.

Great job by the medical staff..Sounds like they saved his life..But as everyone knows I'm sure he needs our prayers right now...An AED is an amazing device and have seen it bring back people to life more then once.

What is a prayer going to do?  He needed and continues to need modern medicine and highly trained and skilled people to implement it.
