OrangeEffect 18 Report post Posted March 2, 2018 (edited) I know the big ten is the best overall wrestling conference, but I think it says something that the ACC has the most auto qualifiers per team at 5.6666... Big 10 with 5 per team EIWA with 2.9 per team Big 12 with 4.5 per team Edit: big 10 is actually at 5.71. Not sure why but I was thinking 16 teams for big 10. Wolfpack05 13 Report post Posted March 2, 2018 NC State picked up 10 slots for the conference for the second year in a row. 2 Wolfpack05 and LordNelson reacted to this
Wolfpack05 13 Report post Posted March 2, 2018 Should be a great team race between NC State and Virginia Tech again this year. 3 1032004, KTG119 and Housebuye reacted to this
RoadrunnerPride 24 Report post Posted March 2, 2018 So if Maryland was still in the acc it would have made the conference worse. Someone please save Maryland. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
OrangeEffect 18 Report post Posted March 2, 2018 Should be a great team race between NC State and Virginia Tech again this year.ACC needs 2 more teams. Problem at the tournament is the one and two seeds get a bye first round and cant score bonus points. And then if they do happen to get upset no advancement either. A team with a bunch of 3 seeds and pulls a few upsets would have the advantage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Wolfpack05 reacted to this
jchapman 1,340 Report post Posted March 2, 2018 It would be interesting to see a list of AA's per team by conference after the NCAA meet.
OrangeEffect 18 Report post Posted March 3, 2018 Okay I was wrong. (Can’t believe no one has corrected me by now). The big 10 is actually at 5.71. For some reason I thought they had 16 teams. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The 2/3 matchups are huge in this tournament Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

CB 91 Report post Posted March 6, 2018 Watched ACC tournament on ESPN3, it was enjoyable. Good commentators also. Did not realize about a couple of NC State guys, but now I know. Undefeated Frosh 157 Hidlay. Also 197 Macchiavello. He had a great finals match, just came up short. I'll keep an eye out on both in Cleveland.
ThatLogSchuteWasCarrying 179 Report post Posted March 6, 2018 It would be interesting to see a list of AA's per team by conference after the NCAA meet. I think that a few years ago it was pretty even between the Big Ten and Big 12. But I'd bet with the addition of all the WWC teams the Big 12 probably took a hit while the ACC has been improving. OrangeEffect 18 Report post Posted March 6, 2018 No, they added UNI and Fresno State this year. In that case you are correct. Guess I need to go recount the number of teams in each conference.
Peso 331 Report post Posted March 7, 2018 I think the Big 12 was perfect for the athletes. Tough, but not a meat grinder like the Big 10. Virtually all of them had more than one tough match, and to make weight 2 days, etc... I believe the Big 12 teams will be pretty tough in a few years.
