157lbs Finals will be wrestled at 1130 am EST

Reread the thread. The consensus agrees with my take—that this was a dumb post.

What consensus?  The most interesting match up at this weight, and probably the top 2 guys, will meet in the 1/4 finals...that was the point of the thread (and one that most folks who follow the sport would agree with).  Shields getting the # 4 seed was stupid.  Hidlay looks solid, but not dominant by any stretch.  Putting Nolf and Kemerer (with a combined 2 losses on the year) in a bracket where they meet in the 1/4's is stupid.

This Nolf and Kemmerer match is intriguing. Kemmerer has looked great. Nolf has looked great, but he does look a tad more conservative in the way he gets his points. The times these two have wrestled in the past they look like two wrestlers in a drying machine with Nolf winning every scrambling sequence. Should be interesting, or Nolf will destroy.

Championships are won Saturday night. Intriguing match ups have nothing to do with it. Besides, last year Kemerer was supposed to be the second best dude but then Palacio pinned him. But yeah, let’s just crown the winner of this years quartfinal champ. That makes sense

That match against Crone he looked tentative. There are some movements that he normally makes that he can't freely make right now. The fluid motion that is normally there seems off to me. Nobody even stayed close with him last year or this year pre injury. We will see soon now.

Come on guys, I am as hard on tbar as anyone, but get real.  With everyone at 100% are you really arguing that Nolf and Kemerer are not the top 2 at the weight?  Hidlay MAY be in that conversation, but he is hard to gauge due to limited competition.  His best wins are Jordan(6-3), Lavallee(3-1OT) and Berger(6-3).  Finesilver(10-5) is the only other top 20 is win.

And Berger and Micah have numerous losses, and Lavallee is now a first round loser at NCAA's.

At full health, anyone arguing that these two are not the two best are arguing for the sake of arguing. They don't even believe it.

The "real", most likely final will be wrestled shortly in the 1/4's.  It doesn't make sense to you, but most of us understand reality. Yes, Kemerer got pinned by Palacio (who was known for big, explosive moves), and then proceeded to wrestle back and take third while Palacio took 6th.  The seeding committee decided to punish the MFF's and create the dumbest bracket in the tournament, where 5 returning All Americans are all in the lower bracket, and 1 AA is in the top.

It makes sense, its just wrong.

The reality is that the top two guys can meet before the finals, but that doesn't make it the finals. Thats just life.

When Brands lost to Cross was that the true Olympic final? Of course not. But thats the sort of backwards logic you are trying to use.
