And for the record, Rudy Isom had over 40 wins either his 4th or 5 year, possibly both. 

He shouldn't be included in any list of "worst" wrestlers, but maybe on a list of "when yer hot, yer hot and when yer cold, yer cold".

 

He was a Jr. Nationals Champion, defeating among others, NCAA finalists Kenny Monday and Mark Schmitz.

 

Not bad for a guy who didn't qualify for NY State Championships because two NCAA finalists ( Chris Edmond and Pete Capone) were in his weight class at the Long Island Sectional.

 He had 43 wins the following season but was knocked out the first round of NCAAs.

Wow, that is incredible. I don't have seen things like that happen at state tourneys, but national tournaments, but never the Ncaas. Has there ever been anything similar to that? Great trivia RetiredPoster

Pete Capone was the other high school wrestler ( eventual NCAA runner-up to Edmonds) who kept Rudy out of the NYHS State Tournament.

I didn't score a point this year and took 2nd in the HWT bracket at the Sooner Athletic Conference in NAIA.   LOL.   Only 1 guy in the bracket at HWT,  so they gave me a souvenir of the 2nd place plaque for announcing the tournament!  LOL
