After a successful test at the College World Series, the NCAA has approved the sale of alcohol at championship events.

Hell yeah!

Kinda hard on Wisconsin in this post, don't let your opinion of a few ruin it for the many.

I didn't mean to pick on them....was just trying to describe what exactly happened.  I felt bad for the guy in the story I mentioned.  I'm sure he and his buddies paid good money like everyone else for their tickets, and I'm sure he was excited to watch finals.....but then he passed out during the first match..lol

To hell with them.

If you live to go the greatest event our sport has collegiality and spent your time in that condition, you're no fan but a juvenile delinquent.

Besides, who the hell can afford to get in that condition at $10 a pop?

Also, Yuengling is panther piss.

So 60% of the time, Yuengling works every time?

Black and Tan is Yuengling's best offering, 1857 is second, followed by it's Lager imo.

It's going to be a shredded knee or two every year due to booze fueled wrestling just to prove...

I should know...In my college years.

I refuse to drink during wrestling events so I wouldn't miss anything.

Hope the NCAA has big cash reserves to handle the lawsuits when a fan who was drinking at an event gets hurt - or worse, drives off and kills a family on the road.

Drunk "fans" are just drunks. No one likes them and no one wants to be near them.

The number of drunks thrown out of venues will increase and incidents in the stands will as well.

NCAA is asking for trouble with this one.

They sold beer this year and there were some drinks a being consumed (if you count budlight as a drink).

Most people kept it under control, some drunks in my area but no one creating an incident.

I'd like to think that this event would keep things on the up and up and keep the woodchucking sister humpers home.

Yuengling Black and Tan, not bad.

They make a pretty decent porter ale, too, although it's hard to find here in north NJ.

This was not the first time beer was sold at NCAA's. Haven't read any reports of incidents this or in previous championships. Most drinkers do so between and after sessions as most of us are 'serious fans and don't want to miss any action.

Alcohol has been permitted in suites and boxes (private venues) but not in general admission seating open to the public.

The trial started two years ago (at the college world series) and expanded through this year with some other events included (including all divisions of wrestling) without incident.

I don't drink (been sober for 8 years now)  so if anybody buys me all session pass to the NCAA's I can be the full time chauffer! LOL.  Never been to DIs

I'll break this down and type it as slow as I can for you.

If you get fall down drunk at the NCAA's then you're a juvenile.  Grow up.

If you want to be a drunk as an "adult" and represent the crap of society then go to NFL games.
