We saw all these wrestlers this weekend (Cubans)
Obviously interested in Burroughs/Chamizo
and JO/Asgarov but any of these other matches got you pumped up?

I assume it'll be Gillman or Ramos vs Ortega, and I'd give the nod to Ortega, he seemed pretty in control against Gillman this weekend
Valdes is undersized and if it's James G, it should be a blitz

The next 3 matches seem interesting on paper.
Livan Lopez vs Dake/Ringer (Dake obviously brings in fans so I assume he will be there)
Torreblanca vs DT (has to be)... so far they have gone 4-4 and 3-2 both for DT, should be a good one.
Salas Perez vs Snyder I assume, Snyder is better and will win but its a great opponent.
All of our top Heavies can beat Estevez, so meh...
Overall despite seeing these guys this weekend I think there are enough solid matches to make it a fun dual to watch.

Cuba Men’s Freestyle Roster
57 kg/125.5 lbs. – Reineri Andreeu Ortega
70 kg/154 lbs – Alejandro Enrique Valdes Tobier
79 kg/174 lbs. – Livan Lopez Azcuy
92 kg/189 lbs. – Yurieski Torreblanca Queralta
97 kg/213 lbs. – Reineris Salas Perez
125 kg/275 lbs. – Yudenny Alapajon Estevez

*Any inside info appreciated, any comments like "How is the Taylor match interesting he is 2 and 0 in the series" are frowned upon but welcome

I'm glad that Cuba is coming. I want to see Gilman get another crack at the guy he just faced at the Pan Am's. I also want to see Snyderman face off with Salas.

I am up in the air if I want to see Logiebear have another go with the Tobier, or letting McKenna try his hand, and possibly getting a glimpse of his potential against a real good Senior level wrestler.

I wouldn't expect to see any of the guys who will be competing at WTTs that weekend to compete at BtS. Will likely be guys who have byes to FInals X (or fill ins if they are not willing/able to be at BtS for some reason).

BtS and USAW did a horrible job coordinating calendars this year. It appears that all the, eh hem, "planning" for WTTs and Finals X had two bad side effects:

1. Limited the number of potential/likely USA candidates at BtS.

2. Last Chance got eliminated. Not sure if this event was eliminated bc of the new WTT format (calendar, etc) or due to a USAW agenda to exclude JO from WTTs for another year. But either way, it's lost -- and that is a bad thing, IMO.

I'm sure the schedule makers at USAW really care a ton about a guy who is in the last olympic cycle of his career with few to no international results.  The reality is that Retherford should have been the future of this weight, but with him either apathetic or injured, it is now a huge void.

Don't worry... Stieber is heating up...

I don't understand why Oliver vs Asgarov is A) being billed as a supermatch and B) the last match ("main event") over Burroughs/Chamizo.

Yeah, well thats as listed now, you would think everyone agrees with you and they will be swapped.

Either way, pretty pumped for both those matches.

I don’t think that excuses their behavior.

Just spoke with them again. They have now confirmed that they have no back up indoor venue. Their website is wrong.

If it rains, no wrestling. All the athletes traveling from around the world will not wrestle.

So typical of the most poorly organized sport on planet.

Is "them" the same "them" that gave you the information you PM'd us all to call you on the phone for? The information about what would happen if a Snyder or JB got popped for PED's. Just wanting to clarify so I know how much weight I should put on what you're saying.

fish...

seriously...

i feel like your quality of life would be better and you would be much happier in the long run if you started following basketball and just dropped wrestling all together...
