Can we PLEASE not make this about Jordan Oliver, there are various other ones discussing that. 

 

But I'm just wondering what the main reason for getting rid of the LC qualifier?   It prevents guys from showing up at the open?  Seemed like a good setup and we got a world silver medalist out of it last year...

Have to ask the powers that be. Do we still have any kind of petition system in place?

I believe the answer is yes, but not 100% - remember hearing both ways on forum posts about it.

Whether or not the petition/wildcard system is in place, I don't believe a wildcard has been added to the trials since 2015.

No petition process this year.

 

No Last Chance may have resulted from one or more of the following reasons:

 

1. Cost Savings

 

2. Casualty of the Final X process and associated scheduling conflicts/challenges.

 

3. Deliberate attempt to ensure someone did not get a “Last Chance”.
