I can't remember a class with 10-285's ranked in the top 70. Can any of you?

1. Steveson-Minn
3. Parris-UofM
14. Cassioppi-Iowa
22. Nevills-PSU
47. Whitman(197/285)-UNC
54. Elam-Mizz
64. Reid-Lock Haven
66. Emerson-Neb
68. Walters-Drexel
69. Lightner(197/285)-Rutgers
NR. Streck-Indiana
NR. Heyob-NW
NR

6 of them are going to B1G schools. So, it looks like Cass may see the same guys A TON as even 2017 should produce several 4 year starters!

Likely starters out of 2018(with most likely redshirting)
Iowa-Cass
Minn-Steveson
UofM-Parris
PSU-Nevills
Neb-Emerson
Rutgers-Lightner
Indiana- B. Streck Lost to Parris in the Indiana State Finals at 220.
NW-Heyob-Lost Ohio DI State final 2-1 to Jordan Earnest(Ohio U)

Likely starters out of 2017
10. tOSU- Singletary
21. Wisc-Hilger
NR. Ill-Wroblewski Went 35-0 and became a 3A Illinois State Champ at 220
NR. MSU-Beard D2 Michigan State Champ at 285

Likely starters out of 2016
Purdue- S. Streck

??????????????
Maryland-Hemida has one year left and they are pretty dead at 285 after him.

Are you suggesting little Nevills will beat his brother for the starting spot?

He is not suggesting that - he stated that most of the list of 2018 guys will probably RS their 1st year out.  By "likely starters" he means that these guys have a good chance of being the starters at their schools for 4 years once they start competing.

Good observation.  It's not often the consensus #1 recruit is a heavyweight... let alone to have that amount of depth behind him.  Unfortunately for most of these guys, they'll have Steveson in the way for at least 3 years.

The problem with depth and even top line heavyweight potential is competing with football, a potential NFL career, and the full football scholarships especially if they are getting a guranteed four. A decade ago Ohio State could not find a heavyweight for their wrestling progam after Nail retired and bulked up JD Bergman, Corey Morrison, and Pete Capone from 184/197 while they had Dexter Larrimore and Garrett Goebels starting on their defensive line. Pretty sure both were top ranked heavyweights going into their senior years. Both had a cup of coffee in the NFL but not sure if every made an active roster. I think the Buckeyes could have topped Iowa with another All-American in St Louis.
